The profession of shrinks is an example.  They devise disorders out of thin air and then set forth to treat them. Another: when is the last time you heard a doctor prescribe lettuce and fresh produce to a patient?  You'll see drugs prescribed constantly that have to be secured from a source. 

When I was a kid it was evident the places not to do business- stay away from used car lots with weekly payment schedules... stay away from rent to own... stay away from the corner boys... today? Mainstream industry is on the take.  It's too easy.  It's a cycle and we're on the slide right now- we got too big and bloated and instead of struggling to survive we had excess ... and became a target... and entertained BS mental gymnastics described conditions as fact. 

There are two sexes, and there is a third however excruciatingly rare it is.  That is science.  How it's perceived doesn't matter- and in a world based on logic I don't have to play along with someone else's warped sense of reality.  In the logical world, you sense intrinsically right and wrong- yet now the law is so far apart from right and wrong its a different subject.... to some... others are happy to exploit it. 

this isn't anything new, not sure it's the "left" and this type of sh*t has been going on for years now. this country is literally ass backwards and everything is upside down.

everyone needs a safe space these days, pandering to the smallest minority factions is the norm to show "you're a good person", and being a fat disgusting pig is not only acceptable but it's healthy.

I don't think it's a distorted reality, except for the surge at middle-school age, who do it because it's now a thing.
I don't doubt many FEEL they're the wrong actual gender when they're young, but if you can't be trusted to drive or adopt a kid when you're young, there's no reason to intervene in regards to this until they're 16-18.

Using someone's pronouns is a matter of etiquette.  If you know them and respect them, guess what, you'll use their pronouns.  And also guess what - you'll use their pronouns if they match how they look.  Pronoun use is rarely a conscious matter, it's whatever comes out in the flow of your speech.  If you've known a guy for 15 years and he's a she now, you're going to say "he" because that's what he is in your mind.  If it's someone you've recently met and they look like a she, then you'll use she.
The pronoun thing is only an issue when the trans person is looking to get offended when there is no offense OR when someone is deliberately being a jerk about it.  The rest of the time, it's accurate or innocently inaccurate.
