It's more related to production, though some west Texas crude needed a pipeline to be shipped more efficiently, I think one was built.  Oil also gets shipped by rail.  It costs more of course, but it gets shipped.

Yeah, same here regarding courses open, and completely different regarding humidity.

It'll just be $100+/round for holiday pricing at anything that's not a dog track. The dog tracks are $50-75/round, walking, lol.

That’s a 4,000-pound jump over 2021 models and it’s primarily due to the larger rear diff and heavier duty suspension you get when you check the box next to GM’s max tow package. No longer do you have to opt for the 6.2L gasoline V-8 (at the expense of fuel efficiency) in order to enjoy the brand’s heftiest towing capacity.

What is the "local food" of note where you live?  Something rarely found elsewhere, but somewhat unique to your area.

Cincy had their chili, I don't think Atlanta has anything, shrimp and grits is popular but pretty widely spread.  I recall having a "pasty" in the UP of Michigan.

For SoCal... A couple.

  • Fish tacos. I mean, they really started down in Ensenada, but they traveled up through San Diego to all of SoCal before they ever were seen elsewhere in the US...
  • Santa Maria is a little too far north to call "local", but they made tri tip a thing.
  • The Christmas Eve tradition of eating tamales (even if you have new Mexican heritage whatsoever).
  • Carne asada fries.
  • Korean fusion taco (made famous / invented by Roy Choi and the Koji food truck)


I could also claim the french dip sandwich, as that was evidently invented in LA... But it's certainly spread nationwide a long time ago,
