Roughly speaking, we may have fit the monetary category had my health not gone to shite and I lost all my earning power throughout my 30's.  I can also no longer do the job I did in my 20's.  Job I have now amounts to not much, but I am meandering towards something better, hopefully, if my re-entry to the world of education goes well.

I'm in that 9.9 for income, but not net wealth. 

If I had been able to keep the house in the divorce, I still wouldn't be there, but I'd be a hell of a lot closer. 

But I'm 43. I'm shooting to be well within the 9.9% when I retire.

I believe politics are not far off a the standard bell curve.  Some large % not far from the center, and some much smaller % near both left and right edges. 

Unfortunately, it gets exacerbated because the voices most heard are from both social media and ALL main stream media, and they are out near the edges.

So the folks near the middle get angry because, although can happily exist in a conversation not far off center- they are deluged with the message from the far edge opposite them.

It leads to this polarization and this “ pick one side or the other and fight” mentality.


So, I kinda agree with this, and kinda don't.

On the one hand, yeah, the loud bonkers stuff gets the attention. But I also think there's something wired in us that gravitates toward the carnage. In arguments, in media, all over. 

Like, most media is dry, or at least nothing special. But it's that spicy stuff that gets focused on and slung around. Granted, then capitalism takes over, and folks produce more spice to counter place that produce nothing but it.
