Anyone that believes Trump is stupid, is playing right into his hands.  He's 100% fine with being underestimated, it's one of his key negotiating advantages.  And to Trump, absolutely everything is a negotiation.

He's an incredible asshole, he's unbelievably self-interested and self-absorbed, and he plays fast and loose with laws, rules, morality, ethics, loyalties... but stupid is something he certainly is not.

perhaps, but he's stupid enough to lose an election because he can't control his mouth or his twitter account

I'll do it for you. The only link you need to read right here:

https://theintercept.com/2019/04/18/robert-mueller-did-not-merely-reject-the-trumprussia-conspiracy-theories-he-obliterated-them/
Mueller makes clear, for instance, that the Trump campaign not only knew that Russia was interested in helping it win the election but was happy to have that help.

I could stand to follow Badge's lead and lose some weight.

The COVID lockdowns didn't help me much. Normally you'd think that would give me tons of extra time to walk, hike, etc. But we got the puppy, and his early months he was NOT on board with walks. And I didn't want to put him in his crate to go take walks of my own, so I spent a couple months doing absolutely nothing. And of course with stress and everything, there was more eating and drinking going on than normal.

Starting to get better... The puppy now wants demands a walk first thing in the morning so we're typically going 2 miles every morning, and sometimes more. With the golf, I'm getting some range time and when I play a course I walk the course, so that's a little more. I feel like things are starting to get back, and I'm probably back to my pre-COVID weight.

But I could really stand to lose another 20-25 lbs.

Losing the election by around 3% in the popular vote wasn't a result of his twitter or his mouth, it's because he's an insufferable asshole and a few people decided they'd had enough.

And arguably it was his mouth that WON him the election 4 years ago.

Let's not pretend that he suffered some massive landslide defeat, we're talking about 3%.  Sure, a lot more people voted against him in 2020, but a lot more people voted FOR him as well.

And yet he GAINED votes from 2016 to 2020.

His twitter is irrelevant, the people that voted against him didn't vote because of twitter-- but some of the people that voted FOR him might have.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I can't stand his arrogant, annoying, tone-deaf, condescending tweets.  I'll be delighted NOT to have to read about them on a daily basis.

But his twitter rantings are one of the reasons his support base followed him.  I don't believe he lost votes because of it.

This speaks less a plus for Trump and more a negative on the populace.

Lol. Typical blame the voters bs...and not blame the DNC for putting forth yet another horrible, corrupt candidate. A legit candidate would've beat Trump in a landslide.

He's definitely not stupid- can't stand when people try to say that- he clearly has some intelligence to him- or he wouldn't be where he's at. His brothers inherited millions and millions just like he did- and none went on to be world famous real estate developers, tv stars, or the president of the freaking US.   This pre-supposes that being famous is linked to intelligence.  It also suggests a smart person should want to be a TV star or the president.

He's definitely smart- and he definitely knows how to talk a great game.
Being a bully who refuses to acknowledge reality isn't "smart."  It may be effective in some walks of life or while dealing with some people, but he's not smart in any conventional sense of the word.  He doesn't read, isn't interested in truth, and wouldn't beat a 4th grader in a game of chess.

Again- that doesn't have to do with intelligence- that has everything to to with EGO and pettiness. You're talking about maybe the most arrogant, egotistical person in the world. He literally cannot help himself.

And the twitter spats and his mouth didn't lose him an election. A global health crisis emanating from China which cratered the US economy and left 200,000+ dead lost him the election. COVID never happens- Trump would've crushed Biden in a landslide.
