I think the fries over the dog are more about wrapping the fries w the dog in one package than it is fries 'on' the dog.. . Like the weirdos in Pittsburgh.

At least that's how I've interpreted, received and consumed the Chicago style dogs in my days in either No Ill or in SE Wisconsin.
Correct, but I always leave a couple on when I'm eating.

Yeah, but why bother wrapping the fries with the dog? Is there some packaging shortage I'm not aware of?

Seems like separate packaging would be the ideal, and then people who want fries on their hot dog have all the freedom in the world to put fries on their hot dog.

I've never had fries on a hot dog, but onion rings on a hamburger can be pretty freaking great.

have you ever met a hot dog or brat you didn't like?
Brats cooked offset on the grill just so the casing doesn't burst,I use Pepper Ridge Farms sausage rolls with poppy/sesame seeds.Top that with diced raw onion and spicy brown mustard of your choice - thank me later.Wash it down with a sudsy concoction

The wife likes the appearance of the tiled deck so far, which is a good thing.

I like the redder sausage hotdog things, not the white ones.  I used to eat Ballpark a lot because I was poor.  Er.

The French don't have hot dogs that I ever saw.  The step grand kids think they are fantastic when they visit.  But they put that red stuff on them.

I tried one that had gummy bears as part of the filling. Hard pass.
well, there you got me.

I wouldn't eat that either

I tried a drink concoction that was nothing more than a cup full of gummy bears covered in vodka

not good

The French restaurant has a desert called a "Colonel" (pronounced the French way as opposed to "kernel").  It is a sorbet drowned in Grey Goose.

It's quite tasty.  We're going tomorrow for dinner.

The wife and I watched "My Octopus Teacher" and she says I am no longer to eat octopus.  Hrumph.

Well good lord, don't let her watch Charlotte's Web or you'll never get bacon again!

Mmmmm, bacon.

I made fried cut potatoes for the first time yesterday ("French Fries," "Freedom Fries," whatever). They were pretty good. I overcooked them just a tad, but my daughter prefers them that way; my son said they tasted like the ones from Five Guys--and I think he wasn't far off. I didn't think there was enough salt, but SFIrish was happier that way.

In my feeble efforts to fry potatoes back in school, I overloaded the small fryer I had, and the taters cooled off the grease, leading to greasy nasty "fries".

I really should have understood heat capacity better than that.

She really likes bacon, so they helps, and her daughter's name is Charlotte, pronounced slightly differently.
