North Port is not like Punta Gorda at all, and they are neighbors.

PG has charm to it. North Port has bedrooms and chain stores/eats. Not much of that here.

Unincorporated PG, which I'm a part of, is different. And it's weird because UPG is in Charlotte County, while we are in Lee (barely). Not sure how they pulled off that address back in the day. I'm sure Cape Coral would love to claim Burnt Store Marina as its own.

There are about 12,000 new homes that were just approved along Burnt Store Road, with commercial tracts, which will be nice for us. Construction is raging.

We ventured down to Punta Gorda and walked and drove around a bit, the day was nice, had a fairly decent lunch somewhere overlooking the water.

We drove up to Venice another day and had a pretty good lunch there at Dockside Waterfront Grill.  That was one of the better places I've found.

I agree there isn't much to North Port, I was just noting the extensive residential developments going up in the general area.

They have had two fantasy camps the past two years and I did both with two days in between to try and recover.  That's when we mosey around some.  I'm only doing one this year.  My arm was cooked after the first camp last year.  We'll probably come down a day early in 2025 as they have a get together at a pretty nice beer place in Port Charlotte that caters to veterans.

I was in Chicago when you were here last. I will not be in 2025.

Did you go on to Captain's Table on Fisherman's Village, or Laishley Crab House?
