Ryan Day underpaid.

Ed O and David Shaw incredibly overapid.

Nick Saban should be getting like $20 million a year.

At least Shaw and Day make some sense.

Shaw was getting NFL overtures, 5+ years ago, and I guess Stanford paid to keep him.  Ryan Day was an OC with no head coaching experience.  OSU wanted to keep him, but he didn't have a ton of leverage.

O makes no sense.  Did they just decide to give him a raise out of the kindness of their hearts?! No way in hell anyone was going to poach him.

Ryan Day underpaid.

Too early to tell IMHO.

He hasn't had enough of a recruiting cycle to tell if he can win with his own...

In a snap-shot, everyone is either over or underpaid.

Travel impressions:

We flew out to Denver and drove to Breckenridge, Grand Lake, Estes Park.  we took MARTA to the airport, it was crowded going down, and packed coming back, mostly with students from a private school, mostly younger girls in short skirts, which I found a bit surprising, private school and all that (Westminster Academy, school uniforms).

The plane both ways was completely full, they were asking for volunteers going out.  I guess I'm getting old, I don't much relish plane travel.  Atlanta airport was as crowded as I've ever seen it going out, about normal coming back, still crowded.  People are "back to normal" COVID or not.  We stayed at a nice resort in Breck, it was full, the town was pretty crowded despite the off season, it was cold, we saw 17°F one morning and some snow.  We had two nice dinners out, and one pretty bad.

I had reserved two nights in Grand Lake expecting to take the short drive through the park to Estes Park but the road was closed even though there was hardly any snow.  That dictated a 3.5 hour drive around including a stretch on I-70 which is rather unpleasant driving for me anyway.  I rented some kind of Kia that was "power deficient". was on the floor fairly often.  Berthoud Pass is interesting.  We tried a bit of climbing up from Loveland Pass which is at 11,990 feet, I'd take maybe 30 steps and have to stop for air.  You can see I-70 down way below before it enters the tunnel under the mountains.  We saw the Colorado River in the RMNP, interesting.  I hear it gets larger downstream.

View off our deck in Breck, one day we had lunch outside sitting there in the sun, the next morning it was 17°F and snowing.

Taken from Loveland Pass, this is Arapahoe Ski area down below, you can see US 6.  Nobody was skiing yet.

The aspens were pretty when we arrived, that is Ten Mile Range in the background, I recco Breckenridge as a nice place to visit even in summer.

It reminds me of an upscale version of Gatlinburg (a lot upscale).

I'm glad to be home.  The MARTA station is almost a mile away and I'm getting too old for toting all the luggage the wife says she needs.  At least it is mostly downhill coming back  Lyft wanted $50 to get to the airport, we might take it to the MARTA station in the future.  The Denver airport is weird to me, poor signage.

OAF- since you continually are aggrieved and INSIST on spewing your politics on this board, let’s get on with it. Your ruining our “safe space “

“DUE TO POLITICS decided earlier than others to let people die WHILE AT THE SAME TIME lauding his state's numbers....which proved to be the opposite of what he boasted.”

You said this on the other thread, but you shouldn’t talk about our Vegetable-In-Chief Biden like that. Is it his fault there have now been more covid deaths under his watch than his predecessor?  By your logic - it would appear so.

“He's a nutj0b-adjacent alternative to Trump in 2024.
.
“He probably loves the poorly-educated, which is likely how he was elected in the first place.”

This is very accurate- but why do you keeping picking on Brandon..eh… I mean Biden?

Are you mad because his campaign slogan, “Build Back Better” has now officially been changed to “Lower your expectations”??

You said your angry because “this place is an echo chamber and your wasting your time here”.

Well, since you are ruining this place with your BS politics all of the time, I have found the perfect school for you to teach at:

Mask usage and requirements were sporadic on our travels, mostly not, some stores asked for masks to be worn, a minority.  We masked up in airports and on the plane, nobody seemed to mind much, a small minority in ATL were without masks.  In Breck maybe ten percent of stores had signs.

We were up front on the plane and had food or drinks almost nonstop so it wasn't an issue really.
