The Braves famously moved from downtown to a 'burb with probably the worst traffic situation in the city, and no MARTA.

I'm headed to the game tonight in fact hoping for a sweep and a clinch in one deal.

They are pretty good, I don't expect to beat Milwaukee though.

The Bears should move to Florida.

I try and run every other day, if I run every day I don't recover well.  I'm always amazed when after a pretty long run my watch tells me I burned 500-600 Calories.

I can eat that much in 5 minutes or less vs an hour of fairly intense running.

My motivation is baseball fantasy camp.  I had signed up for two this year but the one in November was cancelled.  January is still on.

I try and stay in shape for that, it's very hard on the legs.

Yep. And I'm not actually running away unless that thing is bigger than me. And I'm 6'5" 265#.

And even then I'm not running unless I think that thing can kick my ass. And I'm a 2nd degree black belt.

So I don't run much.

Yeah, being a big guy [and the weight that comes naturally with my frame] doesn't really work well with running. I've been going back to the gym, and the treadmill has a little more give than running on a sidewalk, so I usually try to jog long enough to get my HR up into the right band and then try to keep it there with brisk walking and the occasional speed boost back to jogging if my HR drops.

I've also been trying to work back the weights and a lot more core work.

It'd be nice to say that all this is because I just know it's good for me... But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't because I think I'll start hitting a golf ball farther.

I'm 6'4", or used to be, was 180 pounds in HS, now around a persistent 240.  We have a small gym in the building that I use, not many others do.  I also stretch a fair bit.

Every year at baseball I see 30 somethings blowing out hammies or calves or quads, mostly legs.  I'm out there running on the last day, slow, but running, I get sore after, but not too bad.  We play two 7 inning games a day and it adds up.  Baseball is not an old man's sport at all.

I'm going to look into attending a Reds camp I think, they used to have one.  It might overlap timewise though.  The Braves do a super job, about 2.3rds of the attendees come back each year.

A lot of things smaller than you could kick your ass; gators, wolves, mountain lions, sharks etc.

Although in that case you only need to be able to run/swim faster than the slowest guy there.

I don't worry about any of those things except mountain lions. That's only when I go hiking--which I need to do more often. I know the areas where they frequent, and the rule is that you don't hike early in the morning or close to dusk, as that's when they hunt.

Of course, there are some shark reports around...

My city made the list at #48: https://money.com/collection/best-places-to-live-2021/

I assume they didn't include any places in Florida because they didn't want all 50 best places to live to be in Florida, which is what would have happened if they did it fairly...
