BeltLine-fronting megaproject starts to rise over Historic Fourth Ward Park | Urbanize Atlanta

This is pretty near us thought technically not midtown.  This Beltline concept has sparked an amazing rush of construction, everyone wants to be near it.  It's so crowded on weekends it's almost unnavigable.  Hopefully it increases exercise.  Some of us need it.

The Beltline was envisioned by a Tech student (Named Gravel oddly enough) using old RR lines to construct paths and perhaps light rail around the inner city.

In case you were wondering ...

What $2.2M buys in a sparkly new Midtown condo right now | Urbanize Atlanta

We toured their sales center, they really did high end on the appliances.  The view in this one isn't much of anything though, another building.  I'll stay where we are.

So, I'm watching the Braves last night and Duvall hits a long one to center that hits the fielder's glove and bounces over the fence, with two one, so HR, right?

Nope, in the confusion, Duvall passes the runner who was on first who thought it was caught and was headed back to first to tag up?  So, he gets a single and two RBIs.  The umpires made a very late call on the play, which I can understand.

not the first rule in baseball, but possibly the most important rule in base running, never pass the runner in front of you

Yup, it was a very odd play.  The announcers are not present, they stay in ATL, so they couldn't figure out what happened for a while.  They never had a camera on the runners for obvious reasons, so they presumed Duvall was rounding first looking into the outfield and the runner on first was running back to tag up.

Actually, that's no HR, it's a 4-base error. Batter-runner must still properly touch bases in order as if it was. Umpires most likely waited for the play to end, then figure out what to do.

If there were two outs, there is potential for a timing play. In softball, I've seen walk-off game winning HRs taken off the board because of baserunning mistakes.

So, we're in Chicago now.

The place certainly looks different, with all the boarded up former storefronts on what used to be the Mag Mile.

Took a taxi in from Midway. Noticed a lot of statues were removed too. Columbus is gone, but the name of the parkway we drove on is still Columbus.

Not sure if the road will get a new name?

George Floyd Parkway?

In other news...

I challenged a flight attendant today.

Need to challenge airport managers too, if I can find out how.

All throughout both airports this morning, and on the flight, we had to hear about how it's "Federal Law that we must wear masks on airplanes and in airports."

Federal Law?

Did I miss the House and Senate votes on the bill, and the signage into law at the White House?

Did I miss all that?

I'm OK wearing the mask (OK, I'm not. It sucks wearing a mask for 6 hours, breathing in all of my Co2).

Just don't tell me it's a Law. It's a MANDATE, and it's a mandate coming from unelected government officials (our 4th branch of government) in the Swamp.
