... we're supposed to get our decks tiled this week, starting today. Hopefully. The wife has wanted this for two years now. The deck surfaces are raw concrete, somewhat discolored in spots by rust. I hope it looks better, the estimate came in under what I expected.
Cool crisp fall day here. Nothing notable to report, but I see a lot of campaign signs dotted about so I infer we have an election shortly. We have two Senate races this year, and one is likely to have a runoff.
Can you imagine if that seat is the pivotal seat for control? The money spent here will prop up the economy.
I bring this up to note how long this thread had persisted. The penultimate sentence is prescient.
We enjoy our decks more now for sure, at least the middle floor deck. I rarely go out on the upper floor. The lower floor is basically all plants and "undecked".
My beans and tomatos have withered I think due to moasic virus. Bummer. I need to try something else next year. Fresh beans and maters is about the best thing you can grow, if you can grow them. I had bad luck in Cincy as well, in part due to deer.
There is some satisfaction in growing your own food even in a condo. We go to the pool nearly every day and I'm working on swimming. Today unusually one other resident came for a short time, we usually have it to ourselves except on weekends. My heart doc says I'm good to go but stay on the meds. I'm supposed to drink less.
I had hopes of a Braves sweep over the Reds but it appears that won't happen. The Reds have a solid team. The Braves fantasy camp is to be held twice this year, Nov and Jan, I signed up for both. It gives me incentive to work out. Even young guys in shape are suffering by day 4.
