I totally grew up in the MTV era. We would go to friends houses and watch videos for days. We would all talk about all the new videos at school. Not everybody had cable in those days so sometimes we picked where we hung out just by who did and didn’t have mtv.

Beavis and Butthead was really a major thing during my high school years. I feel sorry now for all the teachers who had to endure all the “heh heh he said butt” jokes.

I’m not sure exactly when it changed but it seems like about the year 2000 they started really focusing on reality shows and such.

Great time to grow up.

I wonder... How much different would pop culture be today if someone time-traveled back to 1992 and stopped this from happening:

Yeah, it was late 90s. They launched MTV2 for music videos, and MTV became reality TV. Then at some point they quit showing videos on MTV2 as well.

Yes.

Once you see the video, you can't unsee it.  That video--stupid, skanky, disgusting, whatever--becomes that song for you.

There's an ever-shrinking area of life in which we have to use our imaginations.
You don't need to worry about this one anymore, because nobody watches music videos nowadays.  Reality shows killed the video star.

Well they are all available on you tube "on demand," so why on Earth would anybody want to watch them on TV with commercials and no control over which one they play?

you tube killed the video channel.

He gone.

New York Gov. Cuomo Sexually Harassed Multiple Women, Investigation Finds - WSJ

A Democrat from New York who loves to get handsy with women and never accepts responsibility? Maybe this is his audition for the Republican nomination.

Why go there? The list of sexual predators in DC/Government would fill a book as thick as the Bible, with smaller print.

The Cuomo thing doesn't strike me as being a partisan situation, unless you make it so.  We have seen many on both sides charged with such misbehaviors, including the current President.  People in power can start to feel they are above the rules we minions follow.

Meh.  He is perfect fit where he is. Dem.  Will deny responsibility, be propped up by his friends and brother in the media, as some kind of hero, will not be held accountable, And will publicly chastise the first Republican that gets accused of this with his holier than thou bull jive he is always streaming, like he did in the Fake Kavanaugh accusations.

New Yorkers love that style.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
