A lot more...

Average Annual Precipitation by USA State - Current Results
That site is a little skewed. It shows Texas receiving and average 28 of inches of rainfall per year but where I live near Houston we average 50+" per year.  It has been a very wet year this year, raining almost every day since April and forecast to rain some more later this week.

Houston got 50+ inches in places in 2-3 days during Harvey alone.

My new book, "Marine Dad".

Took me a while to get back to it.  I wrote half of this a decade back and am just getting to it again.

Paperback is up on Amazon.

We ate at his SC flagship awhile back.   Very pleased. I embrace just about all BBQ styles,  I'm not a zero sum BBQ person, but wouldn't want to be a dope waiting 3 hours for any type of food.   Hopefully that's not a byproduct of him opening up in ATL.
I try to avoid new restaurants during opening weeks  Don't have shit together, people overrun the place, not for me.

I always give new places 6 months or more to work out the kinks

coolest airplane ever made. Crazy to think it was first made nearly 60 years ago and they haven't built a successor (that we know about) that is leaps and bounds better yet.

What's even crazier is that the U2 spy plane which flew first in the late 50's early 60's I think is still in service.  Not near as sophisticated of course.

I guess the need for the SR-71 was obsoleted mostly by the updated capabilities of spy satellites and the high operational costs.

Another crazy thing is that the original B-52 Bombers were put in service in the mid 1950's and the last one was built in 1962.  58 are in service, 18 in reserve, and 12 are in long term storage.  They plan to fly them at least until the 2040's at which point some of the airplanes will be 90 years old (the air frame).  Of course they have been refurbished and retrofitted over the years.

The DC-3 was introduced in 1937.  There are still examples flying in commercial service.

The C-130 was introduced in 1956.  It is still in production.
