There's nothing like dragging two little kids to the oldest's track and field meet
Did you happen to venture up to Mansfield for a track meet?

Heh well I hope some immigrants make there way to Ohio.  We could use some more good restaurants.
I don't. We already have too many people living off the gov't teat. We don't need to swell their ranks.

The subway here used to have color coded lines, red, blue, green, yellow ... but the yellow line runs up through what has become an area dominated with Asians (and Hispanics).  Some really good restaurants up that way.  Anyway, the yellow line now is known as the Gold line.  They changed the term.

We don't have any typical Korean restaurants in walking distance (the Korean Fried Chicken place is good and close by).  So, we drive out there on occasion, there also is a good Malaysian place next door to the Korean place with the unusual name "Food Terminal", and they just opened a branch fairly near us, have not tried it yet.  They do an okra dish that I favor.  An Indian place near us does okra also, interesting to me.  I thought okra was African in origin, related to hibiscus.

Chicago's CTA brown line goes through pretty rich areas.

Yellow and purple are also very good areas. Purple goes to Northwestern. Go figure.

I was throwing a rubber baseball on the practice tennis court yesterday and had the wife make some short video clips.  The good news is my arm speed is way up.  But I notice my torso looks really stiff.  So, flexibility.

It is pretty much summer here already, though it got chilly last night.  It's 59°F at the moment, headed to only 70°F, so we had a cold front that was supposed to bring rain but didn't really.  I have a veritable garden on the deck and have had to water it incessantly.  The wife is seeing about having an outside spigot installed.  Our plumber is an extremely nice very tall bald African American gentleman.  He puts on booties before entering the place, he did some repair work after we moved in.  He's one of the nicest fellows I've ever met, extremely polite.  I don't know anything about his history.

I sometimes wonder if we started ignoring race if we could ignore race.

It’s all good.
I am engrossed in watching video of the peaceful riots in Minnesota last night, or a peaceful water bottle was thrown and struck a CNN crewmember peacefully in the head, and he peacefully lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Then the peaceful mob, peacefully chased them to their car while peacefully throwing more objects at them. Then the peaceful CNN crew peacefully tried to drive away well peaceful objects including eggs And water bottles were peacefully thrown at their car.😂
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

There are after all some peaceful protests, maybe most of them in general, but they can deteriorate into mayhem and violence, and looters take advantage of the distractions to loot.

Speaking of food choices, this place has been an amazing success and is expanding.  The was THE Sears store when we moved here in 1964.

The restaurants are all decent enough, but nothing stands out to me, yet.

While the presentation is nice,it doesn't scream "must have" to me.Looks like OKRA which IMO is just mushy sustenance - good fried but then again what isn't

One thing that I love about living in large metro areas is the variety of food... Can't wait for everything to reopen to the point where there's full indoor dining again so I can go back here: https://www.garlicandchives.com/
