I also have a major issue with her language "put at risk the well-being of our communities in the United States."

Lady, those are our communities.  You don't have any communities in the USA, by definition.  These aren't somehow embassies, full of Mexican nationals on Mexican soil contained within LA neighborhoods.  And she doesn't get to decide what puts our communities at risk.
If they want to be Mexican, they can do that SOUTH of the Rio Grande.

Yeah, completely agree,  you got in just before my edit to touch on that point as well.  I highlighted it and meant to address it, but hit "post" before I was ready, because some idgit here at work needed me to, well, do my job for a minute.

Fortunately for me I currently work for the gub'ment.  We rarely do our jobs for a minute.

I don't think words can ever be considered an act of war nor causus belli or lead to much of any reaction beyond perhaps more words.

Meanwhile he complains about the increase in defense spending.
I don't see your point. drones are extremely cheap to manufacture and maintain..... $2 trillion F-35 weapons platform.....not so much.

US defense spending is absolutely ludicrous and has been WELL over $1 trillion annually for years when you actually account for the things excluded that ought to be included- such as interest payments on the INSANE wasteful highly destructive and world destabilizing $8 trillion+ "war on terror", the nuke arsenal (part of DoE budget not DoD), etc..

US needs to close down some of it's nearly 800 military bases across the globe bring those resources home shut down the empire a good bit and end the wasteful spending programs of the Pentagon.

US really is on the brink of becoming Rome. Empires end when they over extend themselves militarily & financially and when they are invaded by foreigners. all of the above is happening here.

Rome fell because it went bankrupt trying to dominate a vast empire it did not have the financial resources to maintain which made it unable to...wait for it...secure it's borders from foreign invaders who eventually overthrew the government from within. the germanic barbarians saw themselves as whatever germanic tribe they were part of- not as Romans. you have a bunch of invaders coming into this country illegally who see themselves as Mexicans and whatever else and not as Americans. that is a huge fucking problem. when my ancestors came to this country they did so legally, learned English and spoke only English in the home, assimilated to the culture and they saw themselves as AMERICANS and Americans only- and they were beyond grateful for what America did for them.

pretty simple in my eyes, if you don't like America then go the fuck back to the 3rd world shithole you crawled out from.

Reality is they won't be leaving and we can't deport them all.

we can't deport them all but we sure as hell can try to deport as many as we can- and we can secure the border and enforce the law and put an end to the invasion.

I have no idea what you mean by this, can you please clarify?

For reference, avoiding any semantics of what "calling for" might mean or imply, this is what she has been saying:

So, first off, I think it's just and fair to call for due process.  That's reasonable.  But, as has been reiterated on this thread multiple times, "due process" for non-citizens and illegal aliens is NOT the same as due process for American citizens.  But still, it should be followed regardless, such as it is outlined in the statutes of the USA.

The next bits though, the ones I highlighted-- this sounds an awful lot like a suggestion that the USA should not in fact be following its own laws regarding legal immigration and deportation.  And it also seems to suggest that the Mexican government has some right to claim ownership and impose its views and laws on people who are not actually living in Mexico.  And that's a major problem for me.

It seemed when people talked about the calling for protests, they felt the tax thing was the “call.”

This mostly reads to me like kind of dry stuff. The first highlighted section read first like a call for human rights. That usually would mean pretty basic stuff about treatment (i.e. not sending people to slavery prison with no end).

The second part again seems like fluff. We have immigration systems and if feels logical to ask they run smoothly and not as a quick rush to locking people up. We keep arresting and jailing people at hearings and check ins right after making them eligible for arrest, we create the sense this is just a kafkaesque mouse trap that can’t be trusted.

As for “our communities.” There are going to be people who are either legally here but foreign citizens or in some level of transition, and a country probably would want them not to be indiscriminately locked up. We want the US to do the same for people who are citizens but living in other countries for whatever reason (and it does).

I suppose I could read it as more sinister, but on first read, it didn’t strike me like that.

I want to say up front that I haven't taken the time to research and satisfy myself that a Mexican Senator actually said what was quoted above but somewhere earlier in this thread there was a quote by a Mexican Senator calling for the border to revert to what it was in 1830.  That is context.

The President of a foreign country calling for protests IN the US while other high-ranking members of the government of that country publicly call for annexation of US territory may not be an "Act of War" to you and I'm not saying that it 100% IS and act of war but it is AT LEAST very close to it.

Add in the context of probably 20M+ of that country's citizens having invaded the US and being in the US illegally while all of this is going on, and yeah, that is REALLY close to out-and-out war.

Our response should be to fully militarize the Southern Border and treat the immivaders as enemy combatants to be shot on sight.
Seriously, didn’t Trump kinda do the same thing with Canada ?  He did in fact call for them to become the 51st state. Not sure if he called for protests but it seems like he said something of that effect.

There is no immivasion of Canada nor are there violent "mostly peaceful" protests encouraged by the US.

The whole thing is silly.

LAPD and National Guard giving a mostly peaceful presence to the mostly peaceful protests. 😂
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
