What Democrats want to do of course is reclaim the majority so they can hold endless hearings, much as Republicans did with Biden.  This feeds the base without actually impeaching (though they could try that again also).

It's nearly all for show, on both sides.

Highly doubt it, on the last thing.  Because, on the first thing, if/when Democrats regain a majority in Congress, they will move for impeachment the next day.  It wasn't for show the first two times, it won't be the third time either.

IMHO, they would hold hearings to catch the news cycle.  I think they understand actual impeachment ends with NG and they lose the constant headlines.  Republicans seem to have figured this out with Biden, just hearing after hearing, but no impeachment.

did it solve any problems or change anything the first two times?

Actual impeachment would do nothing beyond angering the extremes on both sides.  Hearings nonstop MIGHT sway a few, maybe, in the middle.

No, but the point was it wasn't for show.  It's pretty clear they'd like to remove him from office.  Now, is doing it while knowing they probably don't have the votes "for show?"  Arguably, yes.  But I'm thinking more in terms of "for show" is you don't really mean it, you're just playing to a crowd, whereas "not just for show" is you actually mean it.

No, but Adam Schiff still has all the proof. Just you wait.

It's all "for show", and which kind of "show" is most effective?

1.  Six months of hearings with drip drip drip of whatever info seems bad where there is no real rebuttal possibility, or
2.  A quick hearing followed by a vote to impeach  then trial in the Senate lasting a week followed by a "never mind".

Throwing people out of the country for mundane political speech, using the office for egregious personal enrichment, letting dinguses cut services for entertainment value?
Sounds familiar.

Jailing people for years without trial, for their political views. 10 percent for the big guy (the laptop is Russian disinformation). Wide open border. Printing money for entertainment value. Ignoring the Supreme Court on student loans.

We could do this all day and not get anywhere.

I'm liking what the current administration is accomplishing (and fixing). China is on its knees. Fair trade deals are getting done. India and Pakistan are not at war. Progress is being made on Ukraine and Syria. Foreign investment is pouring in. Inflation is down.

But...

Orange Man Bad.

The government has a clear right to vacate various visas on various and unclear grounds, including Permanent Residencies.

You're right we could do it all day, though the Orange man rhetorical shield is getting a tad tired.

I was hoping for a translator for some of the. The jailing people is a defense of Jan 6ers, right? I know the big guy and open border. What's the printing money? And what's the structure of the "ignoring the supreme court" other than just trying it?

And one can push back is they should do that.

They can take kids from parents on pretty flimsy grounds, and yet, I prefer they don't, when possible.

1.  Yes.

2.  The legislation to pump money into the economy post COVID.

3.  The deal about student loans.

Yesterday during lunch I was absent-mindedly mulling over all the big stories/issues I could think of during this term so far....the record so far, you might say.  I was also thinking about football, and before I knew it, my thoughts wandered off into ranking the record like a football team.  I wrote them down so I could keep count, and I came up with 9 things I liked, 3 I didn't, 2 things I don't exactly like, but I also don't care, I call it the "meh" category, and 2 things where the jury is still out.

Or, a record of 9-3-2, with 2 games left to play.

Not sure how long until a federal judge vacates his wins, tho.
