More weird.
Fan Death

There is a common belief in South Korea that falling asleep in a closed room with an electric fan running can lead to death. Cases of suspected fan death are sometimes reported by the media, and new fans are equipped with automatic timers as a precaution. Though fan death is technically possible, as the use of a fan can hasten dehydration and thus lead to heat exhaustion, the more popular ideas about how fans might kill people have all been debunked by science.

The U.S. Marine Corps is on the verge of its first major reorganization in a century, one that will position America’s premier amphibious force to land on China’s doorstep.

The Marines will organize into smaller units capable of operating across vast distances, seizing China’s network of artificial island bases in the South China Sea. The revamp will see the Marines trade in their tanks, artillery, and even some F-35s in return for long-range missiles, unmanned boats, and anti-ship weapons.

since the MLB all-star game is being moved, I read this article.

https://www.onlineathens.com/story/news/state/2021/03/28/new-georgia-voting-law-what-does-sb-202-change-elections/7038406002/

I didn't see anything in there that seemed to make it unusually difficult for people of color to cast a ballot.  But, my lens is different than some.

Perhaps this writer is biased.

Though oddly, the one the wrote the linked article was about as "just the facts ma'am" as you'll get. Well, just the wording of the bill, anyway.

Feeling productive. Knocked out my taxes. I always find it interesting seeing how different employers deal with their baseline withholdings. Some set for  a bigger one. Some minimize federal, some try to equal out federal and state, which I find interesting. I also learned there was some kind of refund I could get if I religiously tracked vehicle usage. That was odd.

Granted, I have some modest dividend income, so that means a small federal refund becomes a small bit I owe. Next year is going to be a hot, hot mess for me when it comes to taxes because of some IC work and a snafu with a retirement thing. Oh well.
