It is illegal here in Florida. Don't know about anywhere else though.

I'd think the Feds could pass a law that it's illegal on any roadway that gets Federal funds. That would be good.

Bernie is such a cuck and a joke....putting aside the fact that the CIA, State Dept, NED & USAID poured hundreds of millions of dollars into Ukraine and backed two color revolutions in Ukraine overthrowing the governments in 2004 and 2014-  that the current President is 6 years into a 5 year term, has canceled all elections, banned the largest religious denomination in the country, outlawed 11 political parties- including the party that finished #2 and runner up to him in his election, outlawed all media and consolidated control of media into the state #democracy! - it's beyond laughable for anyone with a brain and even the slightest knowledge of world history to say that the United States has been supporting democracy around the world for 250 years.

I'm pretty much never in favor of a federal law aimed at attempting to solve local problems.  I'll vote for what goes on in my city and state, and the folks in Washington can attempt to manage their own local business.

Longer than most any protest I’ve ever read about has blocked a highway. Maybe days? Some of the scenario depends on road position.

I was referring to the speed bump comment.

Sorry about the flippant choice of words. If I was blocked by protestors and felt I was in fear of bodily harm or my life, yes I would not hesitate to turn them into Speed Bumps to escape the situation.

Seems like there's more overlap to this hypothetical scenario than bab or jgvol are giving it credit for.

It's hard to imagine a scenario where people were protesting to the point of crowding my car so that I couldn't move, and I didn't feel unsafe.  I just don't think there is such a thing as a safe mob once it gets to that point. 

I don't want to hurt people.  I'm against it, up to a pretty high threshold. 

People show up in my front yard causing legit trouble, I'm not waiting for them to enter the house.  They riot to the point of shutting my car down, I doubt there's much I could do about it and I'd probably be screwed, but I'd probably be justified in getting away from them however I can.

It's kind of funny that we are talking about this. A couple of weeks ago, a couple of friends and I were discussing most likely something in the news (I really don't remember what is was) and the idea of violence in regards to defending our families or ourselves. We are all gun owners and enjoy collecting guns and shooting and we do this as a hobby.

However, all of us agreed that if it ever came to it, it would be very difficult to take someones life, even if they were an imminant threat to ourselves or family. That would be the very last resort. And even then, I could not imagine being able to live with myself. I just pray that I am never in that situation.
