My step son and his GF were here for a few days and wanted to go to a mall north of us, the principal mall in ATL. We started across the street at Phipp's Plaza, which is a smaller upscale mall my wife wanted to visit. I was surprised how busy it was, very few empty store fronts. We walked across the Lenox, same thing, even busier (I realize it's the Season). They seem to be doing OK but I've seen other suburban malls being bulldozed here, or repurposed, or bought up the by the county.
Like most men, I dislike "shopping". If I need something, OK, go get it and done, which usually means Amazon anyway for me.
Women seem more often to "enjoy" the experience, looking at this, looking at that, drives me crazy. It's as if they want something but they don't know what, they just want to spend money on something new, consumer culture. If I want something and feel I need it, I buy it, done. No shopping randomly with some chance I see something I want.
My wife lets me off usually of course. She often wants to buy me clothes which I do not need.
