Well, I'm 57. So...

And boomers did not have it easy. It was just as hard to make ends meet in the 60's as it is today.

The difference is boomers didn't waste money going to Starbucks every day, getting tattoos, hair coloring, door dash, the latest tech constantly, Taylor Swift concerts, vacations, etc.

They lived within their means and set themselves up to buy a house and for retirement.

Some of us even started businesses to provide good jobs for others. Do you think that's easy too?
Generational complaints remain deeply silly.

Basically no generation is more special and virtuous than any other. Boomers spent plenty on extraneous stuff. They were not all magical boys and girls blessed with innate financial sense. Their times were not all that magical.

Also, most Boomers spent much, most of all of the 60s as children.

One of the other dads on my sons travel baseball team died of a heart attack on Christmas Eve.  He was older than me, but only 50.  Was not overweight anymore than any of us are.  Didnt drink more or eat worse than any of us.  In a lot of fields you want to be "an electricians electrician" or "a plumbers plumber".  I hate other attorneys, but I was introduced to him by a mutual friend who said "we had the same dry sense of humor".  We did.  Only later did we find out we were both attorneys.  He was vastly more successful than me, but the fact that neither of us brought up that we were attorneys, made us a well made pair.  We only spent one baseball season, but his death sucks both as a new friend, and recognizing that Im reaching the age where this shit just happens
Jesus that's terrible. Thoughts with his family and with you.

Grandkids, eating lunch at the island, in the latest house that my son bought.

I'm trying to figure out who the boy looks like.

How's your heart and blood pressure? That stuff isn't good for those things.
yes to that,I haven't had Coricidin or any other antihistamines that contain decongestants as I literally felt the BP spike and that was in my early 20s. Thankfully I very rarely get any types of colds/flu. When ever I do perhaps a little Wellers/Beam w/honey & lemon in tea. If real bad then aspirin and the honey/tea/lemon.

I'm sure some did.

The early boomers were having kids in the 60's. The latest ones in the 80's.

Big difference, of course.

As usual, I see problem definition, however vague the rants, and no proposed solutions. To me, that is just whining.   Life is not fair.

True.

So what I’m taking from this is that people need to start having kids around age 20 and that will lead to better housing and retirement outcomes.

I wouldn't say 20, but more like 27-29 would be the time. Of course, you need to be on solid financial footing along the way.

I was thinking about housing given what @SFBadger96 wrote above.

This is actually my place that I bought when I graduated from UW in 1994. I sold it 1.5 years later. It's now worth $165K but it has bounced a lot along the way. In 2011, during the crash, it sold for what I paid for it. In 2005 it sold for over double what I paid for it.

When I graduated, starting pay was about $30K right out of school.

30 years later, we are having to pay $80-90K right out of school.

That's not bad. Outpaced inflation by only about 31 percent.
