Thanks everyone.

Not much going on here today. They shaved me and made me shower again. Nothing I couldn't have done at home.
Sounds like a vet.

I can eat up until midnight the day prior. Then after that, nothing on the day of surgery and only liquids the next day. They expect me to be out after three days as I am otherwise healthy and relatively young. Then the very long recovery starts. My surgeon filled out my disability form for up to 12 weeks out of work. I'm guessing more like 6-8 weeks.
Prayers/Best Wishes to you for a speedy recovery.Take the 12 weeks think of all the times you've burnt the midnight oil.Unless you're back in the groove and look forward to it stress free 😎

I remember standing on an overpass of I75 in Michigan in 1978.  Three lanes of abandoned cars in each direction buried in snow as far as I could see.
I remember that day, like it was yesterday.

In '78 south of Cleveland on I-71 there was a missing semi tractor trailer here it was stopped by traffic. Then snow drifts engulfed the rig until it was covered and searchers on snow mobiles drove over it thinking it a small hill never realizing until 3-4 days later. The driver survived on candy juice/soda and melted snow.He somehow poked a breathing hole/vent thru the snow with a pipe - crazy. There was still snow behind a shopping strip from where front end loaders piled it by where I'm at

So, my open-heart surgery is on Tuesday, but the hospital wants me there at 10:30 AM tomorrow. I guess they want me to have another day of hospital food and bad sleep???

I've never heard of this practice, and I have no idea what they are going to do to me for a whole day.

Anyone else ever have this happen?
Anesthesiologist Wife says:  who pays for that?  that's weird, seems very old school.    I could see coming in late night before, but a full day before, unless you have some weird labs/other issues which require monitoring, doesn't make sense.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Helena Pagano’s great-grandfather was the last Alaska Native chief of a remote island in the Bering Sea, closer to Russia than North America. He died starving as a prisoner of war after Japanese troops invaded during World War II, wresting the few dozen residents from their village, never to return.

Pagano has long believed Japan should pay more restitution for what its soldiers did to her great-grandfather and the other residents of Attu Island.

But her demand was sparked anew this summer by her first visit to the island. She went alongside Japanese officials who, as part of a redoubled effort to recover the remains of World War II soldiers killed abroad, unearthed the bones of two people from the tundra.

Some added sugar sources are worse than others for disease risk, study suggests | CNN

This is too vague for my tastes, but it offers some interesting possible associations.  I agree that sugar in liquid drinks is "bad", including sweet tea, and even fruit juices, even without added sugar.  They often have added sugar though.

Fructose from what I can tell is quite a bit worse than glucose.
