The melee after The Game got me thinking, the schools probably get fined for fights like that, I'd assume.  But they don't have a lot of control or culpability in the dumb actions of dumb teenagers.  My instinct in an NIL world is to say ok, players are paid now, like players are paid in the NFL?  Fine, you break rules, you get fined, like players in the NFL.  Fines would be proportionate to the amount of NIL $ a player receives. 

What do you think?  Good idea or bad idea?

You can make up some kind of muddled reasons about fairness, whatever, but mostly: I'm the president, so I can. In the grand scheme of pardons that raise eyebrows, this one is pretty low on the list, and given that all Presidents end their times in office with pardons that raise eyebrows (as pardons are wont to do), color me undisturbed.

Do I like it? No. Do I have a defense for it (other than what MDot said)? No. Will I lose any sleep at all over an addict getting pardoned for his spoiled addict transgressions? Nah. As I said, pretty low on the shock meter.

Now we will never see any justice for the purported dealings with China, Ukraine, etc. It's all gonna come out eventually. The DOJ can't keep the laptop buried forever now that it's been used as evidence in a Federal Courtroom.

That's the part that sucks. Any one of us would be in prison right now if convicted of what he supposedly did.
