Folks often disdain Beaujolais because they think it's all the nouveau type.  It's not.  A lot of it is excellent, and underpriced.

And much like the Holtmann debate, you ignore everything presented an repeat the same talking points. In any case, there is no coherent argument that many Trump voters aren't surrounded by tons of other Trump voters. Clearly that is the case in Ohio, and I checked a couple of other states that went by wider margins than Ohio and the numbers remain.
LoL.

Are you even capable of critical thinking?

I mean that in all seriousness.

In the Holtmann debate I presented MOUNTAINS of evidence that Holtmann was underperforming relative to Ohio State's average.  You said "but firing a coach is blowing up the program."

Mine is evidentiary, yours is talking point.  You just recited the "party line".  In that case it was the University/Athletic Department party line that "he is great, we love him."

Then, when even the guy responsible for his hiring and the idiotic extension/raise FINALLY conceded that the point I had been making all along was correct, you STILL tried to argue that somehow we didn't "know" whether or not firing him was the right decision and it somehow depended on how the next coach did.

NO.  At that point @betarhoalphadelta tried to explain decision theory to you but it seemed to go completely over your head.

No back to this issue.

Democrats are MORE concentrated that Republicans.  This is incontrovertible fact.  If you don't like it tough.  If MSNBC tells you that all Republicans are flyover idiots who have never met a Democrat that doesn't make it a fact.

The undeniable fact is that Democrats are MORE concentrated than Republicans.  Thus, there are a LOT more Democrats who do not knowingly interact with a Republican than there are Republicans who do not knowingly interact with a Democrat.

All of the above is without even needing to add that the media (not just news) is near monolithically leftist so even the RARE Republicans who operate in extremely conservative circles and don't knowingly interact with Democrats IRL, still at least are exposed to liberals/Democrats ALL THE TIME on TV, in Movies, etc.

It is simply different for someone on the upper East side of Manhattan or in ANY inner-city ghetto.  They are surrounded by Democrats and the few Republicans who do exist are SCARED of the very real consequences they would face if they were "outed" so they keep their mouths shut.  People in those areas have NO CONCEPT of actually existing Republicans.

You are entitled to your own opinions but you are NOT entitled to your own facts.

Here are some facts:
  • Holtmann underperformed relative to Ohio State's average.
  • Democrats are more concentrated racially, demographically, and geographically than Republicans.

Thanksgiving Day high of 72 forecast, that's pretty typical, but it'll be 80 degrees the day before, which is also a typical Thanksgiving Day high around here.

We have a tradition of going outside after our big meal at lunchtime, and playing a game of touch football.  Usually just the men, but lately the womenfolk have been making noises like they want to join.  I told my i s C & a aggie wife, "Woman, your job is to stay inside and clean up, while the men go outside and do manly things."

(I did not actually say any such thing)

Yeah I like "old" Beaujolais quite a bit, and you can definitely get some screaming deals on it.

But still, I always grab a bottle or two of the nouveau when it's released, mostly because the French make such a big deal out of it upon its release.  One time I happened to be over there on the day it was released, and I walked down from my hotel room to the hotel restaurant where they were normally serving breakfast, and instead they had dozens of bottles of wine, and they were pouring at 8 AM, in celebration of Beaujolais Nouveau Day.  I asked the concierge if people actually drank wine before going to work and he replied, "Nobody's going to work today!"

So I participated in the celebration, and did not go to work...

The Alliance Francais in Cincy made a deal about it, and my wife was President, or VP, something, so we had to go.  It was pretty funny really because they featured the nouvieu stuff out front, and I think nearly everyone had a glass, and then the "good stuff" came out.

There is one here, used to be down the street but they moved downtown.  My wife has not expressed interest in being part of it.

Fortunately, there is a French Consulate here, we used to have to drive to Chicago to go to one if needed.

I've never had any form of Beaujolais.

Is there anything from styles more commonly available here to which it might compare?

Anything you see here that would be a good starter to try? https://bevmo.com/search?q=beaujolais

OTOH, snow is awesome. Especially snow like today, which covers the lawn and trees and doesn't bother the roads. It's peak weather.
I hate the winter, but I honestly don't mind a morning like this. Snowed a little, streets are fine, but the trees are coated with snow and it's not terribly cold. I prefer sunny nice weather, similar to wear Badge lives in Florida, but this is a beautiful visual morning out my back windows.

I assume the 1 mile walk to the pub takes about 15 minutes.

I'll bet the 1 mile walk home takes about 45 minutes.

The difference is staggering.

correct, the walk home is all up hill
wasn't walking last night

Blustery in West TN.  A little cool for this time of year.

51 now, high of 53.

WNW winds at 22 mph.

Ripe conditions for a serious earache.

One thing I've noticed about Michigan in the winter is that it's always gray. Say what you want about Minnesota winters, but the sun comes out periodically. Usually it's cold AF because it's cold, dry Canadian air that lets the sun out.

Minnesota is the coldest place I've ever been in my life.

And it was only the last week of November.  I couldn't believe that all the lakes were already frozen over.

F that.  :)
