I get about a text a day from the Harris folks asking for money etc.  Nothing from the Trump side, yet.

We went back to the art museum today, they had an early showing of their O'Keefe exhibit, so we walked by the polling place.  There again was a steady stream of folks but no line at all.  (The art exhibit left me unimpressed, my wife liked a lot of it she said.  I cannot tell what makes one person's work "art" and anothers garbage.)

Yes, but I surmise enough "art experts" have to claim it's really art, not just one fellow somewhere.  She ended up marrying a dude who pushed her art out on the NY art world and she got famous.  If I personally saw something as art, odds are very good it would not make the artist famous.

There is a lot of art in that museum that, to me, looks ugly and silly and junky.  A lot.  They do have a floor with folks like Monet et al. and I can appreciate that.  They have an entire floor on African art, most of which to me is just stuff.

One of my snowflake nieces is working on a PhD at Harvard. In Fine Arts History.

A PhD in Fine Arts History is not the equal of a PhD in Chemistry, yet both are called Doctor.

What a crock.

I also went to Italy. I saw some art. But I didn't study it for years and have no real appreciation for it. Similar to chemistry. I'm glad people study that too.

I hardly ever was called "doctor", it makes me somewhat uncomfortable if it happens.  My wife signed me up with our dentist and I guess "Dr." was an option in addition to "Mr.".  My last visit the hygeinist lady asked me what kind of doc I was.  She sounded disappointed.

My first wedding announcement went out with "Dr.", I didn't know about it, and apparently the neighbor came over excited that their daughter was marrying a doctor, but my mother in law said "He's not a real doctor.".  

I think any pointy head who insists on being called "Dr." probably has a PhD in art history or somesuch.

We have an artist friend and have a number of her pieces in our condo.  I like them pretty well, apparently she is becoming somewhat known these days in those circles.  I don't care, I like what we have, it's colorful.

Ralph Stanley had two honorary doctorates and called himself Dr. Ralph Stanley while touring. I don't think people actually thought he was a medical doctor, but I guess some individuals do get fooled.

In some Euro countries like Belgium, France, Germany, engineers are highly respected, and are given the honorific title of Doctor.

It was very weird having people call me "Dr. utee94" when I was living and working over there.
