So we're not worried about the able-bodied illegal immigrants entering our country and killing and raping our citizens.  We just want the infants, elderly, and disabled to stay out?

I'm confused now.  Your propaganda is going both ways now.  So not only is the Rep. party trans, your talking points are bi.

Just think, this all started after HB dared to agree with me.
Shows him, for stepping out of line.  Back into the echo chamber with him!

I feel he agrees that it's a minor deterrent, but not effective enough to be worthwhile

similar to other's thoughts of climate change.  The trillions of dollars poured into the problem might not be worthwhile

I'm worried about all illegals coming into the country

even from Canada and other methods that have nothing to do with out border with Mexico
any deterrent is a good deterrent in my opinion

perhaps if fewer infants and elderly come across the border, fewer able bodied will accompany them?

I see this "logic" on FB often, even about vaccines as I noted.  I have some ardent Trump supporters on FB who were claiming Trump basically did the vaccine on his own.

Now, those same folks claim they will not take the vaccine.  Just back in November they were hailing it as a masterful piece of Presidenting.

I suppose humans are for some reason highly inclined to confirmation bias and political bias.  We actually had training on examples of the former resulting in bad outcomes.

Now, one can logically opine that a wall is not worth the money, fine, but to claim no wall ever in human history was a deterrent is blatantly absurd.

That's where I am. A wall is a minor deterrent, with a very large price tag.

But it's something politicians can point to and say "look at that big SHINY wall that *I* made happen!" even if it is merely a drop in the bucket as far as solving the issue.

It's optics.

I THINK there are places along the border where a wall would be very useful.  BP states that.  There also places where it would be redundant or ineffective, you can't build one in the flood plain of a river for example.  But between San Diego and Tijuana?  Obviously it helps.

The sad part is- it seems that the overwhelming majority of American Citizens are in favor of LEGAL immigration.  But that gets discussed so rarely.

I wonder what it would take financially to invest in proactively helping and vetting those who want to do it and speeding up the process so well, that the “demand” for illegal crossings would go down to a manageable level.

Yes, the illegals is the symptom of the larger issue:  the backlog of people trying to legally enter and become citizens.  But that's not sexy and the brilliant masses (I've been assured they're not idiots, despite hating Congress and NOT replacing them) don't vote for that kind of talk.

These recipes both came out of the first one, but the second book is also pretty awesome.

Revolutionary Chinese Cookbook - Recipes From Hunan Province

The Food of Sichuan
Ordered the second one. Love reading on the porch and love reading a good cookbook. Reading Momofuku right now and want to attempt the bahn mi recipe.
