I rewatched the GF series recently for probably the seventh time.  It's extremely well done all around IMHO.

Agree. Every time I watch it, I catch something new each time.

Sometimes I'm astounded at the ignorance of mainstream pop culture 'round here.

I mean, I know the demographic. I don't expect any of you to be able to sing along to Cardi B's WAP feat. Megan Thee Stallion.

But never even having heard of John Legend? That would be like CD in his youth saying "Frank who? Sinatra? Sorry, doesn't ring a bell."
I've heard of John Legend, but for the longest time, I thought he must have been an actor or something. I very recently discovered that he was some sort of singer or muscian or something. Whatever he is, I very seriously doubt that his music is played on the Classic Rock stations I listen to.

My exposure to the pop culture is as small as I can possibly make it. When I hear Pop Culture, I go the opposite direction.

Speaking of radio - anyone who has SiriusXM, what are your go to stations? I mostly listen to the 90's alternative, classic country, bluegrass, and Dwight Yoakam. I cycle through the classic rocks stations but I don't listen to them as much.

Most commonly Alt Nation, followed by Lithium and occasionally 90s on 9.

But mostly Alt Nation. When I'm playing that through the TV, it's annoying to swap stations so I just leave it on. When in the car, the Android app (my wife's car is the activated radio so I use the app) used to have a "favorites" screen where you could see what was on other stations. For that if a song I didn't love came on, I'd be able to quickly and easily swap to that station--and it was set up to not play live, but rather to restart the currently playing song at the beginning. That seems to have disappeared with an app refresh (or I can't find it) so I stay on Alt Nation.

That said, I've been in the process of building a Spotify playlist and might start going more to my own playlist rather than even bothering with SiriusXM.

That's like the reverse of where I was. I mostly listened to local radio or Amazon music, but got annoyed at the jankiness that Amazon sometimes provided, and really just wanted to cycle through stations from my steering wheel rather than fool around with technology. So no app stations for me, though I've never listened to Alt Nation - might add it to the rotation.

I've found the Pandora algorithm is really the best suited for me.  I'll name the song or artist that I like, and let it build the playlist around it.  90% of the time it's pretty freaking great.

My playlist is fairly diverse.

Yes - dominated by what you would call classic rock ( sorry, grew up appreciating songs with weird things absent in much of today’s music- guitars, accoustic guitars, drums, base, you know, INSTRUMENTS)

I have some country, a couple rap, and some pop.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
