Back when SFIrish was regularly performing in live music venues, we were at a bar one night for a songwriting competition and we heard a special guest was coming on a few minutes afterward. So we stuck around. It was Train, who performed a 90-minute set at the height of their popularity following their Drops of Jupiter tour. They are a local SF act (Petaluma, actually), and we were in Marin, so very close to their real homes. It was in a venue that fits about 150, standing room only. Very cool show. Train's never been my favorite, but that was a pretty sweet live music moment.
Marin County I think, Tiburon, is one of my favorite places

Some women would have to drive 2-3 states away, not 2-3 hours.  2-3 hours would be my idea of county-by-county.

So they can drive then?  Cool.

You're the problem.

In other news, the 12th defender strategy has been dealt with.  The offense can have the clock reset to the time remaining at the snap.

I watched the VP Harris interview I recorded on Fox this AM while drinking my morning coffee   It was the first such interview that wasn't T-ball batting practice for her.   I have to say it was pretty courageous on her part to do the interview but she didn't come of as that genuine or solid as a candidate, IMO.  The Harris fans will say she killed it. of course.

I think a candidate needs to be open to interviews with "hostile" audiences.  Just appealing to your own isn't going to get you much except maybe turnout.  You need to be able to speak directly to folks who think they don't like you.  If you get hammered, well, so be it.  (I just saw a few excerpts, and some comments on FB.)

For sure it was good for her from a personal/professional growth perspective.   How one gets to this point, less than a month before your potential election as President of the United States, is a mystery and another discussion.

There is a slight shift in BG states which could well just be poll wobble and not significant.  Each of them is within the MoE.  But they all are wobbling slightly to DJT.  A lot of folks read into such wobbles more than might be legitimate, they could wobble back.  There is nothing really magic about some margin of error, often a 95% confidence limit is employed which of course allows a 1 in 20 chance it's wrong.  These are all well inside that level.  The betting markets are perhaps better indicators.

My wife turned on the heat yesterday.  It looks like a beautiful day here, but chilly.

Frost on the lawn today.  Been getting the house ready for Winter.  Scraping, sanding, priming, caulking, and painting mostly clapboards.  Changed the garage to "winter configuration" by firing up and moving the snow thrower to the fore and clearing a space for the grill in the back.  Oiled and stored most of the garden tools.  Got the snow shovels and the wifie's snow tires down from the garage attic.

No way she was the best candidate and it shows.  I love how she tries to deflect criticism on how she and Biden have handled the border and blame it on Trump when it appears that he had the border mostly handled.

Which Democrat would have been better?  Nobody else really had a path to the nomnation after Biden left.
