Well the propaganda is supported by evidence. Most of the anti-immigration stuff is supported by hopes and dreams and vivid imagination. I have to follow the facts.
Frankly, anti-immigration laws are fairly socialist in nature in that they try to impact business through a centrally planned economy. I'm pretty dubious as to those kinds of restrictions in all cases, and I've seen nothing that shows draconian immigration restrictions do anything but harm the economy and restrict everyone's freedoms. They are a lose-lose, and it is only constant fearmongering about immigration that is usually based in lies that combats that.
Here is some actual evidence for you to consider.
The US adopted what I'm sure you would consider to be "draconian immigration restrictions" in 1924. These were not rescinded until the floodgates were opened in 1965.
So based on your "evidence" the US must have been a dystopian backwater from 1924-1965, right?
Contrary to the propaganda that you so willingly imbibe, in the ~40 years of severe immigration restriction the US built an economy larger than the entire rest of the world combined, supplied the materials needed and a substantial portion of the force to beat the Nazis, beat the Japanese, developed the Atomic Bomb, and were well on their way to putting a man on the moon. The American working class was the envy of the world.
The floodgates were opened in 1965 and today our pathetic space agency has to hitch a ride to get to the Space Station (which is about 400 km from earth as compared to the Moon which is 384,400 km away). Our working class has seen their real earnings stagnate and drop and our fiscal situation is catastrophic to put it nicely.
Your way failed and the propaganda doesn't change the facts.
