Would anyone put hummus on a burger?
I've never done it. I can't say that I'm against the idea, but I don't know what it would bring to the burger that both makes it better and can't be done better by another ingredient.

I'm trying to think of a situation where I'd do it, and about all that I can think of is throwing together a burger, realizing I've got some good flavored hummus (maybe like a roasted garlic, or something with chili peppers) in the fridge that I need to use, and thinking "hey, maybe I'll toss this on the burger".

Would you do it, badge? If so, what is your thought process making it sound like a good idea?

No, but I hate hummus.  Conceptually it makes sense

My main burger item is a thick piece of onion.   I also like a fried egg on it but it gets messy. The BLT.

I love grilled onions and grilled jalapenos on a burger.

I sometimes put diced onion in the patty for me.  I like the crispness of an onion.  Cucumber works on sandwiches.

A good burger is almost as good as a steak for me.

Well, I've not done it, but my wife likes hummus, and I make it for her weekly.

Spicy, garlicy, salty, umami. I think it might work. Will I ever do it? That's a good question.

I like my burgers with lettuce, tomato, raw onion, pickles, and Dukes mayo or my sauce (a spicy Big Mac copy), on toasted brioche.

Never tried hummus on a burger, either, though no reason to think it would be bad. I don't really get too adventurous with burgers, usually do the Oklahoma onion smashburger style. Hard to mess that up or beat it. Add some pickle and a slice of provolone and I'm perfectly happy.

Honestly, I sometimes prefer a good burger and often pass on the steak for a burger.

We are going to Perfect Caper for my wife's 63rd on Sunday.

It will be a tough choice for me.

If their canard is good, I'll be all over that.  Probably my favorite protein on the planet.  Have I ever told you about my BBQ duck enchiladas? :)

I'm not a duck guy, but my wife has had this dish and loved it.

Unless it's a really good steakhouse, I would go with the burger over the steak as well. If it's not a really good steakhouse, they can't do steaks well enough at the price they charge for them to make it worth it to me. But usually the burger at a mediocre steakhouse is pretty good.

Guac > Avacado  (By a large margin)
This is my feeling too

In other news, if anyone wants to visit Chicago, this weekend through 8/22 is the time.

It will be safer than it's been in years in that short period, and safer than it will be for years to come. The Secret Service (insert chuckles here) and National Guard will be present, in addition to Chicago Police and Illinois State Police.

Hotels will not be cheap, and the best restaurants will be a tough table.

But this is the time to go, while the lipstick is on the pig (no offense to pigs).
