Most countries in the world today at some point were overrun with "outsiders".  I still don't see what badge said was "mindnumbingly ignorant".

He was speaking about the political optics of choosing a Jewish person as VP.

My Turkish friend kids me about being more "white" than I am, and he's "right", his ancestors are more directly from the Caucusus than mine.  (He understands the term is not technical.)

To bring it back to the real politics for a moment, I tend to think Shapiro wouldn’t be ideal. In part because it does have a chance to inflame all that nonsense again (I believe he had some very strong words on the matter). I also just think he’s pretty green at his current job.

He is merely noting that a Jewish VP selection might not find favor with some Democrats/liberals.  Some Palestinians are very clearly terrorists by any metric.

It’s in the framing. He’s implying that anyone supporting Palestine is a terrorist- which is absolutely ridiculous. 

And some Israeli’s are terrorists and terrorist supporters- most specifically Benzion Mileikowsky.

In no way did he imply that, at all.  You can't point to what he literally said that implies such a thing.

Correct. Optics.

I didn't condemn Palestine or Israel.

Just making the point that there has been a lot of antisemitism on display since October 7.

VPOTUS did not condemn campus violence. Campus leaders allowed it to happen. Some politicians cheered it on.

That's what I'm getting at.

Admittedly your phrasing can go two different ways:

  • Ask the Squad and the rest of the Palestinian supporters/terrorists.
  • Ask the Squad and the rest of the Palestinian/terrorist supporters.

The former suggests that the Squad and others are either Palestinian supporters and/or terrorists. The latter suggests the Squad and others are either supporters of Palestinians and/or supporters of terrorism. Which if taken in some ways the former might imply that SOME of them are terrorists. The latter might imply that SOME of them are supporters of terrorists.

Either way, I did NOT think you were making the argument that the Squad and the others you were referring to are terrorists. But it was not the most careful phrasing.

Well I certainly think it's easy to choose to perceive it in one way, or another, if you have a specific agenda you're driving.
