A big way that Trump (and by extension, the rest of the Republican Party) could deal with his responsibility would be to publicly state that A) he lost the election, and B) he lost fair and square, and it was not stolen.

He has yet to do either.

I'd guess there are only a handful of people in the entire country that know the true answer to "B" with any certainty.
If the democratic party or republican party has some real credible evidence that "B" is 100% true I think they'd be willing to share it.

I'm not sure anyone knows this for certain.

Wild day on Wall Street today.  Froth?

I thought Costco had a nice quarterly report and they went down as a result.  I may pick up some more.

The guy lost by millions of votes.  Oh wait, we are so supposed to ignore the people's vote and instead go with the electoral college, which he also lost.

Yes, presuming we adhere to the Constitution, the EC is what counts.  So, we are supposed to ignore the national popular vote, in legal terms.  It's the law and all that.

I'm specifically referring to "B"
yes, I know he lost the electoral vote.

please do your best to prove to me and others that the electoral vote wasn't stolen

I'm still waiting for Adam Schiff to show us all proof how the Trump campaign colluded with Russia. He says he has it.

Yeah, that's not how this works.  You don't get to flip the burden of proof.  If you're claiming the election was erroneous, it's on you to prove it.  It's not on anyone else to prove you're wrong.

that's great and I agree, but many would like to see the unruly extremist Trump supporters mellow out, come together with liberals and heal the divide in the country.

coming up with some credible evidence that the election was NOT stolen might help in that regard.

I'm not stating that the election was stolen or not stolen.

I'd just like to be able to form an opinion one way or another.

You're dangerously close to sounding like you believe an either/or situation is 50/50 here.  I hope that's not the case.

There's a claim that the election was "stolen".  That claim lacks any convincing evidence and has been dismissed by dozens of judges, most of which are conservative.
If a claim lacks evidence, then there's no need to opine it's a true claim.

For my part, I check into as many claims as I could, particularly  here in Georgia.  I found either plausible alternative explanations, or often that the claims were factually wrong.  If the election was stolen somehow, in my view it was done by a remarkably large and covert group in several states.

I really think there has been an intent to "disinform" by making a number of claims about what happened that are demonstrably untrue.

perhaps I'm just not trustworthy, but this doesn't convince me there is no evidence or there's no wrong doing.  I've met a few judges I wouldn't trust with my beer money.

No Trump does not carry any responsibility for 500 supporters going rouge
He even stressed in his speech to peacefully protest

The left would love for Trump to just lie down and go away but thats not going to happen
Thats why they are pushing HR 1 so hard to rig the voting system so Trump cant win
Stressed? That's... A stretch.

He said "peace" once in his entire speech that day. He said peacefully 18 minutes into his hour-and-20-minute-long speech. He closed the speech, an hour later with this "fight like hell or you won't have a country any more" line.

Again, I'm not saying he crossed the legal line to incitement. But saying he "stressed" that they be peaceful is just not real.

The people who entered the capitol are culpable for their actions--they are not puppets dancing on Trump's strings. But he's not without some blame as well.
