Definitely. A bunch of people who live off the grid, don't use much in the way of social services, and work really hard? Win win win. No wonder politicians want to stop it.

This is interesting. I'm curious as to how strong the Cuba-Russia ties are.

Not building walls definitely cheaper!
Not in the long run, not by a long shot.
Is it?

What are 12,000,000 un-vetted people costing us, who is paying the price, and who is being most affected?

We don't see much of it here.

I know for a fact that in Chicago the underserved legal masses are super-pissed.
Welfare, healthcare (including free ER visits), depressing wages, need I go on?
Definitely. A bunch of people who live off the grid, don't use much in the way of social services, and work really hard? Win win win. No wonder politicians want to stop it.
If you actually believe this, the Koch brothers (and MANY others) money is well spent.

Great for the uber-wealthy.  They get cheaper nannies.  The rest of us get reduced access to government services and higher taxes.

Whether you liked him or not I think Raegan was a great President who did not look incompetent on the national stage.

Reagan is my favorite president of all time, slightly edging out Teddy Roosevelt.

Reagan is the best in my lifetime (LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, W, Obama, Trump and now Biden).

Jimmy Carter is a great man but I'm sorry to say he was the worst president in my lifetime.

I honestly did not think that this dubious distinction could be surpassed in my lifetime.

Man, that wall came down over 30 years ago.

I feel old.
Me too.

My experience with that:
I took German in Jr. High and High School.  I'm a 1993 HS Graduate so:
  • 92-93 Sr in HS
  • 91-92 JR in HS
  • 90-91 SO in HS
  • 89-90 FR in HS
  • 88-89 8th Grade
The summer between 8th and 9th  Grade I went to Germany and Austria.  We flew into Frankfurt in what was then "West Germany" (technically Federal Republic of Germany but everyone called it West Germany).  Since this was the summer between 8th and 9th grade for me it was literally the LAST summer that the Berlin Wall was still an active prison wall and not just a historical artifact.

There was an option on the trip to go to Berlin and that included seeing Checkpoint Charlie and the Wall.  My parents and I discussed it and declined in part because it took a lot away from the rest of the trip and also because we thought that I could probably go to Berlin and see the Wall when I was 50 (next year).  As it turned out, we were off by a little bit.

Most of our time in Europe was in Klagenfurt, Austria.  The family we stayed with had a mountain cabin near the border with Yugoslavia and we traveled close enough to see AK47 equipped Yougoslav Border Guards manning their posts along what Churchill dubbed the "Iron Curtain"
Churchill dubbed the "Iron Curtain".

It was, but one of his policies destroyed our economy 7 years after he left office.

That said, he was not a bad president outside of that policy.

Nobody should question Carter as an individual.  He was smart enough to get into the Naval Academy and served on Nuclear Subs.  He was very smart and I honestly believe that he did what he thought was best for the American People.

As a President, I think that he was the personification of the Peter Principle.
