You can wish it was something else.  But that's all it is...wishing. If I was a New York resident I might wish Andrew Cuomo was a decent person.  I could even create an alternate reality where he is a decent person.  But here we are.  You don't summon a protest, tell them lots of crazy, untrue things, tell them to fight like hell, and tell them you will go the capitol with them unless you are trying to stir it up. There's a pretty straight line between Trumps words and the riots, and there is a pretty easy reason to see why he wanted it to happen that way, and I think a lot of the other stuff is just people not wanting to live in that reality.
Yawn.

How many people actually stormed the capitol. FBI has arrested what, 200? It looks like max 500. MAYBE 1,000. Out of supposedly 100,000+. That is the reality.

I agree relatively a small percentage of those at the rally chose to enter the Capitol building.

I'm amazed the ME report on the officer who died isn't out yet, nor is any report about the shooting that occurred out.

I suspect highly the narrative pushed by each side on this is seriously false.

I don't know that there are hard numbers but I've seen estimated about 30,000 people were at the rally, about 10K went to the Capitol, and about 800 entered the Capitol.  Why this matters is beyond me - the idea that this was just a couple rubes who went off the deep end is pretty silly. I think about 300 have been arrested, many of whom claim they did exactly what Trump told them to do.

Trump tweeted and said things about protesting. He never organized a coup attempt or encouraged people to break the law and storm into government buildings and break shit or commit acts of violence.

He tried to set up a protest movement. Last I checked, Americans have a constitutional right to peacefully and publicly protest. Absolutely nothing wrong with that whatsoever.
I don't think Trump would meet the legal definition of "incitement" to the level where he could be successfully prosecuted for it.

To act like he does not carry a huge moral responsibility for what happened is just denying the obvious.

No Trump does not carry any responsibility for 500 supporters going rouge
He even stressed in his speech to peacefully protest

The left would love for Trump to just lie down and go away but thats not going to happen
Thats why they are pushing HR 1 so hard to rig the voting system so Trump cant win
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

If there were 30,000 at the rally, and a thousand entered the Capitol, it's pretty clear it was a small percentage of those at the rally.  The other 29,000 apparently thought it was not a good idea, if these figures are correct (nearly).

Does it matter?  Somewhat in my view.

If you tell 100 people to shoot someone, should you get a gold star if 99 don't shoot anyone?

Except, he didn't. There are these things out there called delusional idiot fkn retards. They often do extremely dumb shit on their own volition and often like to blame others for their dumbass behavior.

The official arrested number is 250, just googled it.

#1 lesson in life- retards will be retards. America unfortunately has a shitload of these people. Chris Rock used to make a joke that the people you see on Jerry Springer are your average Americans. I used to think it was funny. Now I just think it's true.

Not seeing where Donald Trump told anyone to shoot anyone or storm the Capitol and break laws. In fact, he never said anything like that once.

Yeah, no.

If some fkn retard interperted what he was saying in their retarded lizard brain and went out and committed acts of violence and broke the law- well that's on that fkn dumbass.

People need to take responsibility for THEIR OWN ACTIONS. No one does this anymore. It's always someone elses' fault. No one tell them no it's not dumbass- it's your own stupid fault.

The folks at the rally were motivated Trump supporters, virtually all of them other than media and security.  Apparently, MOST did not go to the Capitol.

I think that is a different storyline versus had MOST gone to the Capitol.  It's not really all that critical but it's worth noting.  MOST of them did not heed the call to go.  Some did, apparently single digit percentages.

As noted above, Trump might not have passed the legal threshold for incitement, but his actions make him responsible for it, in my view.

He and his folks were citing all sorts of nonsense about the voting.  That got people riled up, some more than others.

Would you yawn if they reached where members of Congress were hiding?  If they hurt or injured one?  If they killed the VP?

Thank you for not pretending to be anything other than what you are.  At least I've been right about you.

The funniest thing about this is that now a majority of republicans now know what it's like to be a normal, everyday Muslim.
It's not fun, is it?  Being linked to the crazies.  Seems kinda unfair, huh?
