There are more Jews in the US than in Israel. We will always defend it, whether they're going ballistic or not.
And mdot's posts seem to ignore that Hamas exists. Anything he blames Israel has done or is doing, Hamas does the same, to its own people.
Pretending otherwise is gross and/or antisemetic.
we defend Israel because it's lobby in the US is incredibly powerful, there is a very significant voting bloc/community in the US that politicians pander to, and also their government is very friendly to ours and serves US interests/hegemony.
Hamas honestly is irrelevant to this entire ordeal when looking at the big picture. Hamas is a relatively new player in this conflict, they've only been around since the very late 1980s and were a nothing group until the last 15-20ish years and have been in power in Gaza since 2007. All this predates that- by a very long time. Israel has been occupying Palestinian territory and subjugating the Palestinian people
several decades before the existence of Hamas. Hamas is a symptom of the disease- not the disease. And all Israel has done by indiscriminately slaughtering tens of thousands of women and children en masse is create more fanatical recruits- and whatever comes next- Hamas 2.0 if you will- is only going to be more radical and more insane. Insurgency math- like General McChrystal said in Afhganistan- for every person we kill there's going to be 20 more, those people we killed have brothers, cousins, uncles, sons, nieces, nephews- you kill someone's family- they aren't going to see oh gee thanks.
PS I'm not sure you even know what the term antisemitic means.
Oh...and double PS....Hamas would not be in power or what it is today without....you guessed it...Benjamin Netanyahu's governments propping it up.
