This came out today.  I do find the current oil production situation in the US to be full of irony and contradiction.

Inflation pushing next generation farmers out of the business: 'Can’t believe what things cost' | Fox Business
American agriculture policy has been "Get bigger or die trying" for over 100 years.

There are a lot of farms that are huge, corporate operations where a family holds all the shares. If anyone in the family has any business savvy, the operation is split into about 40 LLCs, all of which are soaking off expenses from the other.

What would this look like?

China on brink of Taiwan invasion as NATO braces for World War 3 (msn.com)
One under-appreciated aspect of their one child policy is that China has a LOT more men than women in their population. I read somewhere that the imbalance was on the order of 100 million more men than women in the population.

The problem is twofold: 1) the PRC has built their army to put down internal rebellion. 2) Even if the men could get equipped, the PRC has to get them across the Taiwan Strait. Unless things have significantly changed, they don't have the ability to get them there and keep getting them there.

Sure, all things are interconnected. The striking thing is the idea that Joe Biden can magically change the price of housing and gas, and it is just fine that the biggest issue facing Congress is border security. It's a joke.
A President's policy actions both domestic and foreign most definitely influence the price of housing in the US and oil prices. No one is saying he can magically wave a wand- these things are affected in long drawn out processes, and Biden's domestic and foreign policies in large part have been nothing short of disaster.

China can't just bomb Taiwan, they'd have to occupy it.

To do so, they'd have to send their troops across the ocean.

They don't have the naval capability to do this from a troop transport perspective, and even if they did, those troops are absolute sitting ducks throughout their entire transit time.
this.

so Israel struck an Iranian air base in Iran today, but apparently was just for show and to "check off a box" and nothing major....at least that is what this AP report is spinning. Hopefully that spin is correct and this can be the end of it. Hopefully....

A disaster because oil prices are at record highs?

It's honestly a drop in the bucket and not even worth considering compared to the power of Congress. The legislature is largely absent and we are arguing over the crumbs of what the president can provide.

I honestly don’t know what their capabilities are. Do you?  What are ours?  Some of you seem to have intimate knowledge of a foreign nations military capability, I don’t.

His administration could simply and easily enforce rules that are on the books, but that's not the playbook. He doesn't need anything from Congress to do many of the things that he is not doing - particularly with the border.

Blame Trump. That's the playbook.

As for the price of oil:

N
ext, we can talk student loans, for which he thinks he doesn't need Congress to appropriate funding for forgiving them.
