I forgot about a residential area just north of us, it was started in 1904 when this was farmland. It has very wide streets which are attractive, and round abouts at most intersections. I don't know if they were added later, I suspect the "island" in the middle was. Of course traffic is rather light, it's a nice place to walk or bike, the homes often are impressive. Some sketchy ones get bought up and demo'd and replaced with a real mansion. It was a time when land was cheap, especially out here, and they didn't pile houses on top of each other.
I was musing about where a RAB could be constructed anywhere else near us, and I think not.
I could see that going downhill into an intersection might encouarge folks to "beat the light" and get caught on red.
