yup, I'll still watch Boston College vs Virginny, just because I enjoy watching football

I enjoy the competition of live sports

the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat

kids out there trying to make plays and win a contest

Oh I like it too, it's just not a priority in my life these days.

Perhaps that'll change, or perhaps I'll replace kid duties with something non-sports-watching related when it comes to that.  I'm still about half-finished with two different screenplays I started writing many years ago.

The Stick-Shift 668-HP CT5-V Blackwing And 472-HP Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Are Cadillac's Last Hurrah For Loud Gasoline Fury (jalopnik.com)

This may be the last new V-8 car you can buy with a manual transmission.

Might be close on the V-6 as well, manuals are disappearing.  You can get a V6 manual Camaro.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq: What We Know So Far (caranddriver.com)

General Motors is launching a line of new EV battery technology with the Lyriq called Ultium. The scalable technology allows the automaker to produce batteries that range in size from 50.0 kWh to 200 kWh, although the largest size is said to be reserved only for large EV pickup trucks such as the upcoming GMC Hummer EV SUT. Cadillac claims that the Lyriq will offer a battery with about 100-kWh worth of capacity and should be capable of driving ranges of more than 300 miles per charge. DC fast charging capability will be standard but the Lyriq will also be able to charge on home power outlets as well.

I really prefer the idea of trading in your battery instead of quick-charging it.  A - it'll never feel quick enough for people.  B - if you have a battery to trade in, then you get a fully-charged one.

It'd be like a propane tank for your grill.  Your key could unlock it, and if it's too hot or heavy or whatever, the gas station person would do it - boom - more jobs.
They can scan the battery you're trading in and scan the one you're getting so it's all on the up-and-up.

Battery stations with mini-marts, everywhere, to replace gas stations.

I just ordered a new computer.  After gnashing molars a few days, including waking up at 2 AM a couple times with this on my mind, I figured I should finish it.

I bought the external CD/DVD read/write gizmo and a new Office software thing, so it ended up being a bit more than I expected.

But, I can sleep now, I hope.

Funny commercial. I wonder if these people understand they are in favor of coal powered cars?

Every battery-related idea has some challenges.  I just deem it the most likely, considering how impatient people are.

You could have several battery types - the changing station could be versatile to handle any number of different sizes/locations.  It could have a high-pressure wash feature, drying, terminal cleaning, etc.
.
Each individual automaker could have its own stations - so instead of Shell, Chevron, etc, you'd pull inot the Tesla station if that's what you're driving.

Build them every 100 miles along major interstates as you build them in the largest cities........I think this is how it will end up, maybe not what's "next" in the industry.  But 40 years from now, yeah, I think it's the most likely outcome.
