Billionaires have a lot of influence if they choose to exert it, on nearly everything.  And they have myriad ways of effecting said influence.  Sometimes it's a positive influence.

“It is an incredibly high bar to prove,” said my colleague Katie Robertson, who is covering the lawsuit.
The case will test whether Fox’s brand of journalism — which includes a long record of spreading falsehoods (such as about where Barack Obama was born) — is legally vulnerable.



So.........when FoxNews is accused of one thing, they yell "editorial new show" in place of "news"........and here they yell "news" to protect them.

Have at it, a lot of major philanthropy goes unnoticed by the public.  I see a ton of it around here.  Whatever they do that is completely selfish I don't usually know about.

Either way, "they" can exert a lot of influence, positive or negative, it's inherent.

They shine a spotlight any time they give a dollar to a good cause and yeah, their nefarious selfish dealings are somehow hard to find.

A ton of it is anonymous.  We just had a MAJOR gift to our botanical garden that was anonymous.  Many of the donors to the arts center here remain anonymous.  I see that frequently where I live.  The corporate donations are featured big time of course.

Arthur Blank does put his name on various and sundry pretty often.  But it's a large donation.
