I would update my Dell if it wasn't so cumbersome to migrate everything.  I have an Office disc somewhere here.

The Cadillac CT5V Blackwing reveal is at 7 this evening, I am guessing no one here really cares.

I might care a little if it has the same engine as the Z06 C8 Vette

Probably not, but it will have a manual as an option.  The Cadillac Blackwing enginre won't be used, it will be the 6.2 L supercharged Chevy engine.

Damn youse guys still have your AOL Accounts too?Since 2004 I've had a Dell & HP CPU's with Toshiba Monitor, then an Acer and I'm just cracking open my 2nd Lenovo Laptop. And I'm definitely behind the technology curve, still thinking of going Amish the gadgets not only getting way to expensive but hardly serving my purposes.I can hear the theme of Green Acres wafting about in the back ground

  • I think to some extent all of this (except Amazon) will fade. Sometimes with grocery, you actually want to SEE your produce before you buy, and not have some person you don't know substituting some food you didn't want because what you wanted was out of stock. For restaurant delivery, I think people will realize that they're spending WAY more for delivery services than carry-out or dine-in and that one might fade as well. For goods? Yeah, I think everyone has been pushed into free shipping and I definitely think "buy on line / pick up curbside or in store" will completely increase.

I love going to the grocery store and have no interest in those services, but for people who aren't as cooking obsessed, I think they love it. They have as much interest in walking around grocery stores as I do walking around department stores.

Also, talking my family out to eat is a huge pain in the ass. I think I save money ordering delivery, because I doubt have to buy drinks and don't have to order whole meals for my kids who aren't that interested in their meal anyway. Speaking only for myself, I'm much more likely to order delivery than go out to eat even in non pandemic times.

And you w be wrong.  I have stated here many times -  I am a car nut.  Specifically- modern performance/every day driver cars.  Non exotic

I have been following the Blackwing closely for a while.  Drool 🤤

I have been curious since Cadillac announced they were scaling down the V- series cars ( the CTS-V was in the elite category on the world stage). The Blackwing keeps their foot in that door.

I owned version 1- the 09 CTS-V.

I have a 710HP Hellcat Durango on order.  Excess... I Know.  My vice.  Wasn’t kidding when I said “nut”

I don't mind going inside to shop for food.  As long as it's not too crowded.

I don't like Walmart's or malls or department stores

I could purchase almost everything online and have it delivered, I think even groceries

road stands are good if the weather is decent

that's how I purchase sweet corn in season if someone isn't loading my truck because they have too much

Apple CEO Tim Cook went on the offensive against Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook. Cook's speech seems to be a direct response to Facebook's recent attack on Apple, in which the world's largest social network took out full-page ads in several newspapers attacking Apple's new privacy changes.

But what's most fascinating is that Cook took direct aim at Facebook without ever mentioning the company by name.

Just check out the following excerpt:

"Technology does not need vast troves of personal data stitched together across dozens of websites and apps in order to succeed. Advertising existed and thrived for decades without it, and we're here today because the path of least resistance is rarely the path of wisdom.

"If a business is built on misleading users on data exploitation, on choices that are no choices at all, then it does not deserve our praise. It deserves reform.

"We should not look away from the bigger picture. In a moment of rampant disinformation and conspiracy theories juiced by algorithms, we can no longer turn a blind eye to a theory of technology that says all engagement is good engagement, the longer the better, and all with the goal of collecting as much data as possible.

"Too many are still asking the question "How much can we get away with?" when they need to be asking "What are the consequences?

"What are the consequences of prioritizing conspiracy theories and violent incitement simply because of the high rates of engagement?

"What are the consequences of not just tolerating but rewarding content that undermines public trust in life-saving vaccinations?
"Courage; Generosity; Fairness; Honor; In these are the true awards of manly sport."
