Sending 31 over there won't really dent our supply.  Over 10,000 were built, some of those are in mothballs now.

M1 Abrams Tanks In U.S. Inventory Have Armor Too Secret To Send To Ukraine (thedrive.com)

The Abrams was designed to take on heavy Soviet armor in Europe.  It has been used to augment infantry basically providing close artillery support (Marines used it in Iraq to take out houses).  The USMC has recently removed them from their inventory.  Other weapons are about as effective for what Marines think they will need, and a lot lighter with less logistical demands.

I think this 31 figure is more for show than go, to get the Germans on board.  Having to maintain such highly technical tanks of several kinds (including the Chieftan) may be beyond Ukrainian capacity.

Too secret? Maybe but I'd bet a craftily made Molotov Cocktail would still disable it, those aren't secret

The best thing would be to take out dickface Putin. The problem is that he probably has 10 look-alikes running around.

Definitely, it's really just for show, either to push Germany into sending their Leopards, or providing cover for them to do so, depending on how you view German engagement thus far.

From what I've read the Abrams carries such a long long logistical tail that it's not really practical for the front lines in this specific conflict.  But right now with rumors that Russia wants to mount another offensive push toward Kyiv or Lviv, and some evidence in Belarus that such a thing might be a credible threat, I think the Abrams could be useful for defense in those areas of Ukraine that are not currently on the front with Russian forces.

There will be zero wars with China that involve anyone shooting anyone else.  I promise.

China has had shooting wars in the not too distant past.  It's hardly implausible to think they could invade Taiwan.  I don't think they will any time soon, but I can't promise that.

well, Trump would have loved the idea of transporting those folks to liberal cities such as DC, NYC, Chicago.
He might have thrown money at the idea
It certainly could have been done a few years ago
So, no change
I understand more than ever are crossing.  I thought this was happening because the rules from the Trump era could possibly change soon, but nothing has changed

Military recruiting has made a noticeable change in the overall strength of the military?
No, I hadn't heard that.
Lack of good employee recruiting is a problem for most industries and organizations
I hear more about teacher shortages and law enforcement.
But, schools aren't closing or putting students in study hall or recess
Everything changed. No more wall construction - it would be done by now. Messaging to migrants is to just come on in. He initially cancelled the Remain in Mexico policy, which has since been reinstated after Texas won a lawsuit. Migrants can come in without a Covid test, but up until a few months ago, you and I couldn't. Anyway, enough of this. It's off-topic and not appropriate on the Covid thread.

I was not a fan of Obama or Clinton but I was never embarrassed to have them at the POTUS position

There is not a day when I truely dont feel embarrassed with Brandon in the WH

He is  the worst President weve ever had and probably the most corrupt as well

If we have to elect a dem please let it be someone else
This is my feeling.

But not on the Covid thread.
