@OrangeAfroMan

That's because California moved there.

They f'd up their own state, and now they are moving to others, like locusts.

Trying to decided whether this is serious and if I should say something. Kinda assuming it's not. Feel free to correct me.

One of the best videos I've ever seen on ut, seriously, entertaining and instructive.

And this "argument" comes up all the time on associated chat sites.

It's about the question of the "best tank of WW 2" and has a superb final answer.

my grandmother was a school lunch cook back in the 70s when I was in school

the food wasn't always great tasting or enough to fill up a high school boy, but it wasn't horrible.  Some days better than others.  Most of the time better than a sammich and some chips in a lunch box from home

10 years ago when my daughters were in school there were mandates on nutrition that were met each meal.

maybe Iowa just does a better job than some states.

we didn't have options to purchase other food.  You went through the line and got what was offered that day.  It wasn't expensive for the majority that paid full price, it was even better for families that were deemed low income and got a reduced rate, maybe even free

I don't hear any complaints here about school lunches, but I've never heard that nacho cheese on a pretzel was the "protein" for the meal.

I think it is serious, and I think he is right. California is a failed state. And it's citizens are fleeing to Arizona, Texas, Nevada- and trying to mess up those states like they helped destroy California.

I think every other state in the country should put an immigration ban on California. No dumb Californians allowed. Let the crazy assholes stay in that rotted homeless filled shithole state and burn.

Half way. Let's just say my relatives in AZ are not happy with the influx and how their state has changed in recent years.

My stepson lives in SF.  We normally visit 2-3 times a year, and he comes here the same.  I enjoy visiting CA.  I'd probably have retired there except for taxes.

The notion it is some complete failure of a state is not consistent with my experience.  It has bad areas of course, which is not unique, and a lot of homeless esp. in the Tenderloin District in SF.  Much of the rest is wealthy with a high standard of living.  The eastern parts look more like Texas.  They make great wine.  A lot of the scenery is fantastic.

I think they have made mistakes in governing, but so have other states.  CA is just BIG.

Ehhhh, that's everyone everywhere. Complaining about people from far away is our national sport. I'm sure many Floridians are pissed that these Midwesterners keep coming in. When they came from the northeast, it was fine, but not this! :)

You should hear how much people in my state, especially parts of my state just loath folks from Ohio. In the end, it's mostly silly fiddle-faddle. State's are big and diverse and have lots of things, and relatively arbitrary in their construction.

California has grown to be by far the most populous state.  Calling it a failed state is not serious.  Much of the west is more or less an empty lot.  Property values are going to ensure that people slowly move away from California and towards somewhere cheaper.

Most of the population of Florida lives in like 3 areas- South Florida (9.3+ million), Tampa Bay MSA (3.2+ million), and Greater Orlando (2.6+ million). Those 3 cities and suburban areas around those cities have 70% of the population of the entire state.

And vast majority of these people are not from Florida. Everyone is from somewhere else originally. Tampa and Orlando probably have just as many if not more midwesterners than northeasterners. The northeastern crowd is mainly South Florida- but there are a ton of midwesterners down there as well.

The bolded cases me to want to say many blunt things. I will not for now as I'd like to keep a level of civility. But I'll just say it shows a profound misunderstanding of the way the world actually is.

That's nice, but 73 percent of residents are from Florida and they can still complain about interlopers. And I bet some of the transplants complain about them too.

No Canadians down here this year. Or Europeans. They are not happy to own here and not be able to come. That seems wrong.

My German friends are included in this. We will not see them this year.

Of course, we can't go there either.

Florida is fine with the Midwesterners.

It's the NE/NY people they'd rather not have.
