FL Gov. DeSantis says, "you loot, we shoot."

Is there a state that is not a second amendment state?  (Yes, I know laws vary some.)

Do you think potential looters in Florida are deterred by this statement, or is it just political?

Using deadly force against a person who is "just stealing" and poses on direct imminent threat of bodily harm can result in consequences, legal and otherwise, in all states.

Just quoting the Gov.  I think they're working on emergency legislation to protect citizens who shoot looters.

I could envision some undesired consquences of legally protecting folks who shoot "looters".

"Yeah, I shot him, he was looting ..."

There are a special PoS that takes advantage of those traumatized by a natural disaster.

Those who howl "what would you possibly need an AR-15 for?" didn't take looters during a natural disaster into account.

Bulljive.  One shot in the air and looters drop what they are holding and scatter.

I am a firm believer in the right to bare arms, and there are a few cases I could theorize that require an AR-15.  This is not one of them.

Its obvious you have never been through a bad storm where there is devastation as far as you can see but I have and the looters will come and not just a few

They feed off the misfortunate who have their home destroyed and their possessions scattered all over hell

Its not pretty

if left uncontested they will pick you clean and move on

this scum should be dealt with in any way effective
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

I'd give them at least two warning shots

the first in the air to make noise and get their attention

the 2nd would be a little closer to really get their attention

I would hope that would be enough

Not political at all unless someone makes it so.

The message will have an impact.  Just like it does in other geographies.

looters come out by the hundreds to take advantage of the people who were impacted. I saw it here on my side of the state with that hurricane a few years back.

you either hear the message “we’re not going to stop you because you’re not endangering anyone so have at it “or “it’s not even going to be considered a prosecutable crime if the value of what’s being looted is less than X dollars.”
or you hear the message “ it won’t be tolerated here”.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

I hear people comment that when someone shoots an intruder that is simply stealing from them that they value their possesions more than the thief's life. To the contrary, the THEIF values those items more than his own life.

It's a simple matter of the law in each state obviously.

Well, not often really simple.  If you use a firearm, it's a good idea to know the law in your locality.

That's what I get for posting while driving.  I caught what the autocorrect did for Bulljive.

Besides, this is what the founding fathers really meant....
