Man, irritated.

Ordered an electric fireplace for the bedroom. It took a couple weeks to arrive. I scoped out the spot on the wall, and was getting ready to install it when I noticed the plug, which is...not for American outlets.

It shipped from California to Ohio, so not sure how I got a European version, but there we are. Probably why California is dying.

That's when I feel most defeated.  When I allow myself to get excited for a little something different/new/special and the world takes a big dump on it.

Yeah, because children are born.

California is actually losing people. More people are leaving the state than people are moving to the state.
Net domestic migration is negative. Net migration is positive*. People from all over the world want to move to California.

 * note - I'm only 80% sure of that... I haven't looked it up. What I've read suggests that the population growth is based BOTH on birth rates as well as international immigration, but I would need to confirm.

Probably slow boat from China to California, to a warehouse. Then shipped from California to Ohio with nobody bothering to check the plug lol. Doubt it was manufactured in CA.

CA will lose a congressional seat for first time in either a long time or ever.

Nothing wrong with the first two. At all. There are better, more efficient systems of health care and education out there.

And we have way too many people in prisons and jails as it is. We have less people in prisons and jails then China. Freaking China- where they can arrest people for anything and no one has any rights at all. And oh yeah, we have a quarter of their total population- if that.

Update.  Good news, they completely refunded me.  I was worried they'd want me to try and send this thing back and it would be a huge pain in the ass.  But they said just keep it.  I ordered an adapter online, not sure if it will work, but if it does I got an electric fireplace for 12 bucks.  I suppose Cali can stop dying now.

California's population is now growing at its slowest rate in more than a century. The California Department of Finance, which monitors the state's population data, found that from July 1, 2019 to July 1, 2020, California saw a net gain of only 21,200 new residents — a 0.05% growth rate not seen since 1900.Dec 16, 2020

I'd point out that for all the people "considering" leaving California, the population grows every year.
Barely, growth rate is near zero now.

It could be her husband trading.

In my view, families of Congress persons should have their funds in a blind trust.
