I just moved 2 blocks west and 1 block north.  $200 rent increase avoided.  Have more room now, but in a more ghetto spot.
Fun.

I do not.

I was an internet provider for 20 years.
Starlink is a competitor to many of my customers today

yes, with any satellite such as Direct TV or Dish Network, there will be outages related to weather.

upstream speeds are not good with most satellite internet services, perhaps Starlink is better.

there is also a lag in latency - gamers don't appreciate latency

a fiber connection is always the best option, but I understand that's not feasible in some remote rural areas
Not to beat the SpaceX drum too much, but Starlink is supposed to be different. Since the satellites are in a much lower orbit the latency is much lower. Previous satellite internet systems used one or two big birds in geosynchronous orbit, which means they appear to be stationary to the earth.

Starlink is more like a mobile phone system where the towers are moving instead of the phone. It’s a constellation of small birds, they deploy 60 at every launch.

Don’t take my word for it.  Here’s a article from ookla.

Fiber will always be the best obviously. For some, Starlink will be the best and really the only choice.

Luckily in my small hometown we still have an independent telecom company. One of only a few left in Texas. They put fiber in a few years ago, we have 100 mbps.

Same internet, and both places have the same system, so didn't have to deal with returning/starting new, just a few clicks on a computer and it transferred to my new place - same hardware and all.  Surprisingly easy.

Rohnert Park had a damn good fast pitch softball team back in the 90s

Dick Cheney says Donald Trump is the "gravest threat to our democracy" in the 246 year history of the country. Dick Cheney also says a real man wouldn't lie to his supporters. Literally can't make this shit up. Mainstream media slurping off the Cheney's....WILD considering they were the biggest most vile evil pieces of shit and the greatest threat from within to the US in history. My only wish is that god/hell were real so Dick Cheney could rot in hell for eternity. There isn't a bigger POS pol in US history that deserves that fate.

It sounds to me that Trump was getting a litte to close to exposing the swamp and those that thrive(d) in it. It sounds like Cheney is doing anything he can to keep Trump from being allowed to run for office so that he is not able to finish the job. Kind of makes me want to vote for Trump just to see Cheney and others exposed for the crooks that they are.

the fact that Dick Cheney ever shows his face again in public is wild to me. The fact that he's being slurped off by "liberals" and main stream media is beyond wild. That son of a bitch should be in a padded cell in the Hague for war crimes and crimes against humanity until the end of his days. He should be spit on and have human feces thrown on him everywhere he goes and be publicly shamed until the day he dies. There isn't a fate cruel enough for that scoundrel.

true story: Dick Cheney shot his friend in the face with a shotgun on a hunting trip and then made his friend whom he shot in the face apologize to him.

DICK still hasn't apologized to his friend for shooting him in the face. :043:

if this would actually happen I'd vote for Trump again

I have absolutely zero faith this would happen
