It's not fighting, it's a cordial exchange of points of view.  I may not be right obviously and I appreciate hearing how others would manage such things as Alex Jones and obvious disinformation that is very harmful to society.

Twitter is going to find a need for limits on speech not too far from where they have been in the long run, and I bet a lot of folks carp about it.

Obviously I can't throw 95, or close to it, ha.

Fantasy Camp | Atlanta Braves (mlb.com)

My photo is still up on the web site.  I'm signed up again of course.  I wish I had someone to throw with though.  Folks here play "softball".  Meh.

If there are limits set and I dont see any way they will be anything like the current limits at least they will be enforced across the board no matter the political bent of the poster

They didn't have guns back in the day, I was told I could throw in the 80s, but that could be hyperbole, in 1992 when I went to camp.  I was throwing pretty well that week.

Now?  Bad.  Maybe 60.

Democrats risk turning off base by embracing Title 42, immigration advocates say : NPR
I think its a matter of many democrats realizing their "base" is going to be defeated next Nov

They are hoping to survive by moving to the right

The Democratic party is pretty much on the right, and it has long been that way. The two parties disagree on little in reality- but what is really wild to me is how the Republican party was completely subservient and in lock step with the "intelligence community" deep state/military industrial complex- whatever you want to call it- and had an authoritarian streak and used to be the party to want to restrict rights and freedoms- now that's all flipped and it's the Democratic party who is in complete lock step and subservient to the "intelligence community"/deep state/MIC- and wants to restrict rights and freedoms and has a nasty authoritarian streak.

The problem is that their "base" isn't the men wearing nail polish, she/her/him/he/it, pink haired, LBGTQIATARD+++ rainbow flag wrapped defund the police absolute freak show lunatic fringe the party seems to have embraced- mostly just for optics- to show they are "progressive, inclusive, good people". They're not. Their base had always long been the working class, regular every day joes- whom they seem to have long forgotten about and cast aside. People are just sick and tired of the identity politics with zero substance behind it. Biden promised a hell of a lot during that election. All politicians do when they're running. His problem is he's delivered on exactly zero of it- less than zero actually- as things have gotten worse under his stewardship than they were under The Orange One.

A Leftist would view the Democrats as being largely on the Right, and vice versa.

Free speech has limits, in my view, and in the law.  I would not allow Jones on any platform I controlled, at all, nor anyone else so vile and dangerous.

This is why I think Musk controlled TWTR is going to end up looking slightly different, not massively different.
Yeah, we've been over this a bunch. No need to rehash it. Restriction of free speech has extremely narrow limits in terms of the law in the United States. It is nearly absolute. Obviously things which break the law; direct threats of violence, death threats, incitement of violence, fraud, defamation, libel, slander, child you know- that's all against the law. Everything else is pretty much fair game.

I barely know of Alex Jones- and I've only seen him a few times laughing my ass off watching him talk like a crazy person about the government engineering tornadoes and hurricanes, the government turning frogs gay, and Sandy Hook being a false flag.  None of that is illegal. He's allowed to be batshit crazy asshole. And dude is clearly batshit crazy. Only a complete moron would take any of that stuff he says seriously. And the thing about morons- you can't legislate them out of being a moron. A moron is gonna moron and believe batshit crazy things. There's no cure for stupid.

We have no idea yet what Twitter is going to look like. Musk has yet to close the deal. My hunch is that it's going to look quite different and that Musk is serious about free speech. Musk isn't buying Twitter for the money. He's never going to make money on it. It's a dogshit loser of a company. Maybe he just agrees with dude below heavily...
