Florida tops states for new arrivals; many flock to smaller metros, including Punta Gorda | The Daily Sun | yoursun.com

Grrr....

The Top 10 states having the biggest migrations, according to United Van Lines, are New Jersey (number one), Illinois, New York, Connecticut, California, Michigan, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Ohio, and Nebraska.
If it makes you feel any better, extremely South Dakota and West Virginia placed higher on the inbound metric.

Also, you’re one of those people.

Florida and Texas make a lot of sense, especially for retirees.  I lived in cold weather 38 years, did not like it one bit.

And now it's followed me here.

I take the garbage out to the recycle bin which is on 3 and get on the elevator to go to 2 and the elevator stops, and then jerks, and then jerks again pretty seriously, not a good feeling.  Finally it resumes and opens on 2 and I tell the front desk so they took it out of service.

I thought I might get stuck there, and with the snow it would be bad.
Yeah, if it's snowing in a stuck elevator, it's a worse blizzard than I thought! :57:

I'm driving to Ocala tomorrow, so I'm not cooking.  I made chicken soup yesterday, it was quite good, and easy to make.  I added tumeric.

We've been consuming leftovers and extra stuff the "kids" bought and didn't eat.  I picked up to go from Fox Bros BBQ and got their "Foxaroni" as a side, nobody but me ate the Foxaroni.  I thought it was good, several times.

The have something called the "Tomminator" which is tots covered with Brunswick stew.
I wonder what % of the country knows what Brunswick Stew is.

The bar next door claims to have invented Totchos.

Mebbe so.

The snow is beginning to STICK.

Oh my goodness, and we have no bread at all in the house.

Now they need to proliferate. That and cheese curds.

Cheese curds is not a thing around here.  Totchos have become quite popular, along with shrimp and grits.  Totchos are actually pretty good, they have a  variety of types now.  But they are replete with grease.

What is everyone cooking up for MLK Day tomorrow?
MLK day here is only for government workers - not many others have the day off

I may have brats with homemade kraut and mustard for the Monday Night game
