Florida has always had tons of people coming in.  Sure, TX and AZ have had a big influx in the past 10-15 years, but FL is the standard - consistent and enduring.

Many kids assume he was a president because of the holiday, statue, and speech.

I'm driving to Ocala tomorrow, so I'm not cooking.  I made chicken soup yesterday, it was quite good, and easy to make.  I added tumeric.

We've been consuming leftovers and extra stuff the "kids" bought and didn't eat.  I picked up to go from Fox Bros BBQ and got their "Foxaroni" as a side, nobody but me ate the Foxaroni.  I thought it was good, several times.

The have something called the "Tomminator" which is tots covered with Brunswick stew.

Supposed to get some snow today (finally). Got a pot of chili in the oven and a 12 pack of Conway's Irish Ale in the minifridge, plus basketball and football all day. I am excited.

If you call it aubergine, it sounds fancier.

What is everyone cooking up for MLK Day tomorrow?
Tomorrow I think it's crock pot chili. Wife has to work. I'm off, and we have the kids, but I have errands to run with the kids so I can't baby the smoker all afternoon for something fun.

Been a good weekend so far tho...

  • Fri: grilled pork tenderloin with sauteed shredded Brussels sprouts (w/ shallot and bacon).
  • Sat: grilled tri tip with Bobby Flay pinquinto beans and grilled corn with tarragon butter.
  • Sun: wok-fried shrimp with rice / cauliflower rice and roasted bok choy

BTW these beans are never fail. Literally everyone we've served them to asks for the recipe. So here you go: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/santa-maria-style-bbq-tri-tip-recipe-2014974.amp

I take the garbage out to the recycle bin which is on 3 and get on the elevator to go to 2 and the elevator stops, and then jerks, and then jerks again pretty seriously, not a good feeling.  Finally it resumes and opens on 2 and I tell the front desk so they took it out of service.

I thought I might get stuck there, and with the snow it would be bad.
