Metro Atlanta hadn't built a major new performing arts facility in nearly fifty years when this one broke ground in Cobb County.
The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre opened September 15, 2007, a $145 million, 2,750-seat venue funded in part by a $20 million naming-rights deal and a $10 million personal donation from developer John A. Williams, whose name now graces the main theater. It quickly became the year-round home for both the Atlanta Opera and the Atlanta Ballet, the oldest continuously operating ballet company in the country, dating back to 1929. Nearly two decades later, it's hosted more than 3,500 performances and over 3.5 million guests, right at the intersection of I-75 and I-285.
A world-class stage built in the suburbs, and it never had to apologize for the location.

What happened on the Nepal/Tibet border is awful.  A glacier basically breaking off, speeding down a mountain, and just erasing everything down a river valley.  Basically a million-ton iceberg acting like a roller-coaster car and a bunch of villages disappearing under it.

I had watched a video a few months about about a big damn breaking the moment it got to it's max fill point on the reservoir side in Idaho, maybe back in the 60s.  It flooded a number of towns, but was relatively tame compared to the radical acceleration the steep valley caused in Nepal/Tibet.

I find it interesting how many European countries have monarchs they usually "like".

Heading to Norway next year, cruise starting in Iceland going into he Baltic.
