Ha!

This is the second time through.

I'm pretty sure it was intentional.  It was probably not mean-spirited, but it's a pretty big gaffe.  Enough of one that Sankey publicly apologized for it.
I always err on the side of incompetence over intent, through that sometimes doesn’t serve me well in the CFB space.

Yeah, it's not like pranks and hijinks are foreign to college football rivalries... :)

Anyway it's obviously not a huge deal, but it's certainly a gaffe and it doesn't make the SEC Media Days staff look particularly competent, intentional or not.

Don't know any, never actually seen any.  I think they're a myth.

I met one at your tailgate years ago.  Some friend of Burny's, I think.  He was a pompous ass who immediately tried to take a dig the moment I met him, making a lame joke about how our share of the 2003 title wasn't legit.  He then went on to say confidently that LSU had never won another NC which is why we're so inferior.  I smiled and said "except for 1958," to which he was visibly annoyed that his air of superiority with his vast cfb knowledge must be shattering in my mind (hint: it never existed).  He recovered and tried to smile and said "Yes, yes, 1958.  Good call.  I should've remembered that."

Bitch, you never knew it.

STFU, get out of this tailgate, get out of Austin, and leave us the F alone, before the burnt orange team in the stadium over there whips yall's ass in the RB again.  Or we force the 2003 teams to reassemble and you have to find out for yourself that the NFL talent on 2003 LSU >>> 2003 USC.

.....is what I should have said.....

My money says somebody thought it was hilarious and didn't have the wisdom to know there's a time and a place, and that wasn't it.

I mean, maybe a low level conference staffer would put their job at risk for such a prank, but it would be pretty stupid.

1.  Some sound guy thought it would be funny.
2.  Some sound guy just made a mistake.
3.  Some sound guy was ordered by higher to do it.

I don't know if there'd be any outrage but it would certainly be unprofessional for anyone working for the SEC in any official capacity, to do something like that.

Not saying I would do it at that place and time, but why would it not be the time or place?  When would be a good time?  It's not like it was some kind of solemn event or something....
