My rental car from Chicago->Ann Arbor->West Lafayette->Chicago was a Chevy Malibu.

That was one profoundly unpleasant vehicle.

I'd even go so far as to say... P O S.

And I had PLENTY of miles with which to make that determination.
That stinks.  Had a subaru crosstrek in Alaska.  That worked well for our trek. Would have preferred slightly larger for cargo purposes but car rental scarcity in Alaska in summer is real and expensive .

I haven't had a Malibu in a long time as a rental.  I used to view them as "OK".  I think GM quit making them.

I think the best small rental I've had was a Honda Civic.  It was basic, but drove reasonably well and even had a sun roof.  We had a Chevy Trax in Arizona that was OK.  I had a Kia Forte most recently in California.  It got good mpgs in the 40s and was OK.

It's usually just the two of us and I'm cheap.

For me, this hinges on questions like current income, age, dependents if any, lifestyle of course, where one lives, etc.

The writing was absolutely atrocious. And the plot was deathly basic.

I was honestly kind of offended as a viewer.

I started watching "Ballard", an offshoot from "Bosch", which I enjoyed a lot though the last season was ... not as good, to me.  I went 1.5 episodes and switched it off, I'll probably try it again later.  The dialog, to me, is lacking somehow.

Florida’s Brightline Train Defers Bond Payment as Woes Mount - Bloomberg

Folks claim they want HSR (this one is barely HSR), but then folks don't care to ride it if it exists (outside the NE corridor).

The price of regular train tickets on AMTRAK is just ridiculous.

As far as I know, it was the first time there's been a soft reboot of a soft reboot. We are witnessing history here.
