'99 shouldn't have even gotten through the 1st round

1997 - Manning's Folly
1998 Orange Bowl - Overshadowed in the offense’s effort was a defense that held UT quarterback Peyton Manning to a season-low 134 yards in the air.

Tee Martin did march down the field for a late TD in garbage time.   Tenn had some really nice rosters of talent those late 90s squads.

and Tee won something the following season.  Of course he didn't have to go through the Blackshirts

Manning held Fulmer hostage with his talent, forcing a run-first, lean on the defense roster to be pass-happy.  The moment he left campus, the roster could do what it was built to do...and did.

1998 Orange Bowl - Overshadowed in the offense’s effort was a defense that held UT quarterback Peyton Manning to a season-low 134 yards in the air
Without Wuerffel and 2 first-round WRs, Florida beat Manning.  He threw for a lot of yards, but had 2 INTs (including a pick-6) and they couldn't run the ball.
2nd half rushing:
Vols:  -1
Fred Taylor:  131

more Jamal Lewis??
14 for 90 vs the blackshirts wasn't bad, just wasn't moving the chains

did he play vs the Gators?

He played, but their leading rusher was Mark Levine, with 4 carries and 23 yards.  Doesn't matter much when you get down 14-0 in the first and 26-7 early in the 2nd half.  Their OL was so overmatched.

I love Wisconsin Rose Bowl wins, but 1997 takes it here, by a mile.
